Democratic Socialism

I think you'd also have to consider that the Swedish model worked so well that Saab no longer builds cars ... just aircraft - largely military aircraft; and Volvo now belongs to the Chinese. Not sure what else they have to sell other than property.
I was hoping someone would mention Sweden. In college, 3 Swedes lived in the apartment next to mine. They loved their home country. I found their descriptions interesting. I do not want their life or lifestyle in Sweden.

I'm not saying I'd want it either. But almost being ethnically and culturally homogeneous along with a significantly smaller population makes their system more plausible in my view. Again I'm not defending it or saying that I want it. Just an observation

Not a problem. With all our lax tax laws protecting the rich and greedy, they'd never have amassed those fortunes, so they have it coming ... compensation can, therefore, easily be blown away. Look at old Joe Kennedy ... he made a fortune on bootlegging during Prohibition; his heirs deserve to pay.

It'd be a mistake to allow the heavy hand of gov't to do this just because these folks are fat cats. If they can do it to them, they can do it to you too

Those questions can't be answered in a paragraph to either one of our satisfaction.
That's too bad. I would really like to look into the Future Socialist America to get an idea of what to expect.

By the way, capitalism and freedom can be explained in a paragraph or two. Wonder why?

Because identity politics aren’t baked into either, as a reason not to have them . Also , this is a great place to apply Occam’s Razor .

So you think I could answer in a paragraph to your satisfaction? We both know better. But just for the giggles........
Health care - movement toward universal/nationalized.
Environment - investment in alternatives - investment in mass transit - belief in science - err on side of caution -
decreased reliance on fossil fuels - re-establish as top priority and role as world leader
Industries - banking, S&Ls, insurance, energy

Proud of you. You applied yourself and did what you thought was impossible.

Hypothetically, if America went to the crapper and you needed to emigrate to another country, would Norway be your first choice?

Adopt my wife's attitude, screw my satisfaction. Just detail out your ideas.

You're delusional if you think I did.
Wait on Hogg's response.
Canada.

I spent a week in a smaller town in Sweden, and I really enjoyed it. I'll have to admit that I spent most of my time in conferences, but it was one of those places I'd have enjoyed spending more time. The girls were particularly interesting, but I had my wife and older son along, so that was absolutely a non starter - besides, I know how to behave. I think hog might explain better if our wives caught us messing around anyway - it's bad enough when we are on the straight and narrow path. The country was beautiful, the social climate felt like an enlightened mid 50s US ... no worries about letting a 12 yo son out on his own. Seems like things were pretty expensive, but an expense account did a lot to minimize that. I never did figure out exactly when the sun set, though. I do vividly remember following a family with a teenage daughter down the street - a pretty much transparent dress made the experience mesmerizing.

I would suggest you find a big city , they are all liberal . Moving anywhere else and you are going to have to deal with people like us , just paying more taxes .

Is it just me, or is there a good amount of veiled horniness in your post?
