When Cheney is traveling, he orders the hotel staff to prep his room before he gets there. One of his orders is to have FNC on. Cheney is the Vice President under Bush. Now it's related to the thread.

woopty freakin' doo!! I guess that makes it OK for John Edwards to bow under pressure from leftwing groups.

This fear that liberals have of FNC is comical.

Are you trying to stomp on my freedom of speech?

nope, you're free to blather on all you want about a lame duck president that has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.

The only fear I have a FNC is that my house leans to the right when it's on, making the foundation somewhat unstable. Other than that, it doesn't really bother me.

again with the generalizations, i don't fear FNC, i am disgusted by a supposed "news" organization that conducts itself in the way that FNC does. seriously, who wants to hear what ann coulter has to say about real issues. she is supposedly a satirist. bill o'reilly just outyells people, sean hannity thinks he is god.

now don't get me wrong, i am in no way a fan of msnbc or cnn either, but i will watch cnn before i will consider changing to FNC any day.

and all democrats are not liberals, can we make that clear.

And it is true that Barack Obama is on the move. I don't know if it's true that President Bush called Musharraf and said, 'Why can't we catch this guy?'

this seems to be what actually turned Nevada democrats off to the idea. with Fox's recent bashing of Obama being debunked every step of the way, you would think that Roger Ailes would know better than to even jokingly compare him to Osama Bin Laden. I can't blame them for not wanting to go on the Fox News Circus.

coulter is a contributor, o'reilly and hannity are both pundits. all three of them are paid to give their opinions, just like Chris Matthews, Bill Maher, Alan Colmes, Larry King, and Wolf Blitzer. Maybe I am wrong in doing so, but I can separate the opinion spinners from the actual news organization.

i agree, but they also give a face to their respective organizations. therein the problem lies. it is why all these networks get labeled as right or left.

now when the president of your channel compares a presidential candidate with a muslim name to osama bin laden, a candidate that your channel has a history of bashing for being raised a muslim (remember "This IS HUGE!), among other things, you have a problem, and can't be upset when others from his party refuse to have anything to do with you

If FNC disgusts you because they have a "lean" do you feel the same about CNN, MSNBC, etc.?

Is it the lean or the direction of the lean?

i think that in the case of cnn and msnbc, it may not affect me quite as much because they are more left leaning, as a general rule. that being said, i stray away from programming that showcases pundits from either side.

Why then would an FNC viewer be any different - the lean is in their direction and they too may avoid pundits.

Therefore - why not have Dems on FNC if Reps go on CNN, MSNBC - doesn't seem that far-fetched to me.

i have no problem with democrats going on fox news, i can understand their decision not to in the wake of Roger Ailes's statement though.

what about Ted Turner? he once referred to the Pope's shoes as "Polish mine detectors"

neither side can claim any kind of moral high ground when it comes to stupid comments by those highest on the corporate food chains.

but neither side can be upset when they are shunned by the other after said comments either.

what i am saying, is that if an executive from msnbc likens giuliani to mussolini, do you think the republicans will be lining up to debate democrats on msnbc? i don't think so.

#44
why wouldn't they? if anything, they should be eager to go on MSNBC to prove the executive wrong. You don't defeat the schoolyard bully by running away from him.

i'm sorry my comments came out wrong, i meant to say do you think the republicans would be lining up to have a debate on msnbc. not to debate democrats. sorry, i meant that i don't think republicans would go on msnbc for a debate for the presidential nomination in this scenario.

they would probably line up to prove the executive wrong though, you are right in saying that.

Roger Ailes never compared Obama to Osama in the first place. Here is the context of his remarks, while he was giving a speech in acceptance of an award:
It is true that I said Britney Spears looked great at the Academy Awards. and I later found out it was Jack Nicholson. [Laughter/ooohs]

It is true that just in the last two weeks Hillary Clinton has had over 200 phone calls telling her in order to win the presidency she must stay on the road for the next two years. It is not true they were all from Bill. [Laughter]

And it is true that Barack Obama is on the move. I don't know if it's true that President Bush called Musharraf and said, 'Why can't we catch this guy?' [Laughter]

If you can defend Kerry's remarks about the intelligence of the troops as a joke gone bad, then this is also clearly an attempt at humor with the butt of the joke being Bush.

Harry Reid, Senator from Nevada, once said regarding this debate that,
This is more great news for Nevada. I'm happy FOX News will be a partner for the August presidential debate. Western issues will be a major focus of this debate in particular. With FOX News as our partner, candidates will have an opportunity to not only speak to Nevada voters, but voters across the West who will be instrumental to electing a Democratic president in 2008.

He now backpedals with everybody else and it has nothing to do with Roger Ailes' remarks nor with FNC's coverage of Obama.
