Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

Randomly cutting programs because you didn't understand there is more than one Gaza isn't auditing.

Cutting NEVI contracts that were already signed is not likely to fall under the executive's purview, nor is shuttering agencies and programs specifically funded by Congress.

Know how you'd be freaking out if George Soros was handed the reigns? Yeah, that would be messed up. And that's what's happening with Musk.
No one refutes the executive can pause funding; that's what's been done with NEVI.

Aren't all agencies and their programs specifically funded by Congress? What agencies or earmarked programs have been cut?

Soros is a 'progressive' and Musk a lifelong Dem voter til 2024. Soros has steadfastly attempted to undermine rule of law in this country supporting the most radical leftists into office. Trump picked Musk - a guy Dems used to love and had an epiphany after witnessing the last 4 years of 'progressive' government - to assist putting bureaucracy back on their damned leash.

So, yeah, I'd have a problem with Soros, but you have a problem with good analogies.

Not fair. You let him cheat off your paper!

I'll leave it to you to work out:

(A) How disparate those two comments are, and...
(B) How stupid the "Musk controlling the government" claim is.

Good God, one would think that with how much the MSM has been proven partisan liars, people would stop crawling up to them to gobble up the talking point drivel.

I just don't think guys that spout off racist nonsense on Twitter and guys who've been fired before for sharing confidential information should be trusted with this. I also think they're flunkies who, obviously, don't know what they're doing. Most all of their smoking gun "frauds" are either not what they claim or are Trump Admin contracts. This new provisional employee cut is going to wreck services that are in no way fraud, waste, or partisan.

It's stupid. But look, I get it, you've gotta keep in line here. Can't admit people should be hired on merit, as that would disqualify most of the Cabinet.

I can agree on this post. If a guy is spouting out nonsense on Twitter that is unprofessional, that specific employee should be let go.

You think Musk believes he needs the counsel of Donald Trump?
That would have occurred when Trump appointed him, and continues as DOGE is directed toward other agencies. Further, I expect Musk is working with secretaries/heads of those agencies.

Again, it's silliness to think Musk is operating autonomously.

Actually, you introduced skepticism into the dialogue. I asked if you are privy to surveys or polling about it.
My own skepticism is on page one or two of this topic.
I brought up the level of skepticism in this thread and publicly, it's great that you individually are skeptical but many tens of millions of people find any skepticism laughable

You've got a large job ahead of you to convince tens of millions to be skeptical.

Or, you could enjoy the "show" (if you're into that).

It's a matter of perspective; you appear to think most spending is not fraud, waste, or partisan, while many of us think DC needs shrinking and states can more effectively spend their $ without filtering and skimming through DC. Such as education.

Shame. A real shame.

Agreed Comrade Leeann; we must not see how the spending sausage is made.
All within the state, nothing outside the state, and nothing against the state.

It is a little bit absurd to listen to all the complaining about Trump/Elon/DOGE not having "authority" to not pay money allocated by Congress, when the same people complaining largely celebrated the last administration ignoring laws which had been duly passed by Congress.

Reminds me, I should go rewatch the lovely Ingrid Bergman again....
