It was a simple question, will Tennessee residents be willing to suffer a local tax increase to make up the shortfall in NIH funding being pulled from Tennessee institutions?
If Pfizer dedicated HALF their ad budget to partnership research with institutions, they would fund 1.6B.

Lol, why are you avoiding the question?

St. Jude benefits from $22 million in federal NIH grants, are Tennesseans willing to make up the difference from state funds?

I answered it. Just not the way you wanted it.

St Jude receives close to 2 billion in revenue each year. They would do slightly less research with a 1% cut...

Governor of Kentucky. A state as red as Tennessee
Maybe; state level - like the south generally - KY was entirely dominated by Dems from Reconstruction onward, until 2017. Around 2000, Repubs had gained traction in U.S. congressional and prez elections. Red is an uncharacteristic trait for KY. Political_party_strength_in_Kentucky

And If your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle.

I've already put you down as a hard "no", there's no need to keep trying to justify your decision with hypotheticals.

I'm just looking to gauge the willingness of Tennessee residents, to make up the shortfall in federal funding for that Tennessee institutions are going to experience under the administration's cuts.

No for me. I propose you and the other 1.1M democrat socialist in TN who voted for Kamala to put in $20 each to cover the $22m shortfall.

Your comment in the bold oversimplifies the complexity of gender. Gender identity is a deeply personal experience that for many in the trans community goes beyond biology. It's important to approach these conversations with respect rather than using their real experiences to take cheap shots in the PF.

Do better.

Trotting out hypothetical funding replacement options, as an answer to actual funding cuts, is not a valid argument.

Do better.

Could be the cats. Approaching 10 years of Trump dominating their inner peace through media manipulation.
Wife took in a rescue cat a while back. I like the cat because he hunts my property. Kills things.

I don’t like him because he gets to come inside when it’s cold out and he likes to wake me up at 4am to go back outside. It’s like having a newborn again. I’m tired!!

Earning its keep. My comment was more for the childless cat ladies JD was referring to.

You're not. If you were, you'd make a poll. Reminder, polls with dumb premises need an "I like pie" option
