Make sure this is your only post on the subject. Otherwise you will face a reprimand from our Supreme Leader.Put me down as a big no for anything involving universities. Those things are luxury resorts. Turning over new buildings every day while begging for more public money and charging our families our life savings.
Missed your post earlier.Perception is a powerful thing and Trump's media operations are top notch. I'm not so sure about how strong he has started after a month of actions.
"His spending per day is $4 billion higher than Biden’s was a year ago. Next up are massive tax cuts- paid for by huge cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. Is this what Trump’s new multiracial working-class coalition wants?" I think we need to ask ourselves why this is such a high priority in 2017 and 2025.
"Immigration? As of now, we’ve seen no major change since Biden’s executive order restoring control. The border is extremely quiet. Deportations? The pace of arrests is up but still only around a third of the levels Trump promised. Foreign policy? A man who pledged to keep the US from getting into quagmires abroad now wants the US to take over.....Gaza. He also wants to invade and occupy ... Greenland! In talking to Russia, he has begun by blessing Putin’s conquered territories in Eastern Ukraine in advance getting nothing in return. Inflation? It ticked up this month, with the average wholesale price of eggs reaching an all-time high of $8 a dozen. It will get worse: Trump is pursuing lower interest rates from the Fed and higher tariffs everywhere: a recipe for super-charging inflation according to every economist on Earth."
Admittedly, I am a DeSantis guy, but I was encouraged by DOGE and some of the actions taken at first. I want Trump to clean out some of the absurd spending that's happening in DC among other things. However, I am beginning to see them as only gestures that do not really have any effect. For example, he signed an executive order yesterday that banned federal funding for any school that mandated the vaccine (one he championed not even 12 months ago btw). What's funny is that there isn't a single public school in the country that mandates the vaccine. It was performative.

Kind of like trotting out a hypothetical tax hike as the only solution. You're not looking for an actual discussion. You're looking to construct gotcha moments in bad faith.Trotting out hypothetical funding replacement options, as an answer to actual funding cuts, is not a valid argument.
Do better.
I guess that's why he developed such a delusional idea that anyone cares what he "puts" us down as. LOL, his list.Yeah @kiddiedoc bearded is now board czar and doesn't want continued posting after he's tallied your position.
Why would the state need to increase taxes to supplement waste spending by the fed???? Especially on a charity, and private org that takes more then a billions a year in donations??? Seems you more just trying to troll and not being any common sense to the situation... no wonder your struggling with this admin.Trotting out hypothetical funding replacement options, as an answer to actual funding cuts, is not a valid argument.

lolLet's hear your proposed funding scheme for replacing federal research grants to Tennessee universities.
Beshear was AG in Kentucky. His daddy was previous governor. He lost a lot of goodwill when he had ppl arrested for going to church at the beginning of Covid. He’s not been a terrible governor. And he’s definitely not a far left liberal.
I’d rather state taxes rise than federalTennessee residents ready to stomach a local tax increase to make up shortfall?

It was a simple question, will Tennessee residents be willing to suffer a local tax increase to make up the shortfall in NIH funding being pulled from Tennessee institutions?
