Admittedly, I am a DeSantis guy, but I was encouraged by DOGE and some of the actions taken at first. I want Trump to clean out some of the absurd spending that's happening in DC among other things. However, I am beginning to see them as only gestures that do not really have any effect. For example, he signed an executive order yesterday that banned federal funding for any school that mandated the vaccine (one he championed not even 12 months ago btw). What's funny is that there isn't a single public school in the country that mandates the vaccine. It was performative.

I don't disagree with anything you posted. I will be shocked if there is any substantial cuts to budgets and spending. Likewise, I am not shocked when DJT uses PR...like all pols do.

Musk is incorrect if he is meaning paying it's bills. The only way the U.S. can default (not pay) on its debt is if Congress doesn't authorize new spending which the Treasuries issues new bonds into the market. If the market refuses than the Federal Reserve loads them on their balance sheet. The problem isn't the U.S. paying its bills, its the system itself is bankrupt i.e. unable to keep the equation going with growth.

The federal government general position is your money does not exist, its imaginary. The only way the federal government can go "bankrupt" (not pay its bills) is to no longer believe the lie i.e. statutory law.

There is no reason to have the IRS which has 100,000 employees, because the King can create the funds he wishes with an entry in a computer i.e. pay imaginary bills with imaginary credit that you pretend is money.

I would probably put the odds that Trump/Elon reset the system during this term as somewhat likely.

Why would the state need to increase taxes to supplement waste spending by the fed???? Especially on a charity, and private org that takes more then a billions a year in donations???
