Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

What other federal agency hides their leadership structure? Why are you so vehemently against us knowing who is in charge? Very curious

I personally don't give a flying fig who's running the show as long as they produce the results we're getting. Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck could be running the show and I'm fine with that as long as they keep revealing the corruption and mishandling of my tax dollars.

What corruption have they uncovered?

USAID- it took them a couple weeks to uncover some of this. You seem to be a rather intelligent human. You know it takes a while to unravel even the simplest fraud cases.

I know you are going to screech where is the proof.

Just be glad we are at the beginning of something big.

I know you can feel that this is bit different beginning month of a 4 year term.

"Host Kaitlan Collins said, “Before Trump took office, the Treasury Department clawed back and recovered $31 million in payments from Social Security that shouldn’t have gone out that went out. "

A whole $31 million dollars? Big Balls did that much on his lunch break.

Except there is absolutely bad data being released by doge without anyone to answer for it. At this point we're more likely to get a coherent answer from bugs

I'm all for revealing corruption and going after those responsible, beyond even just canning them from their jobs. However much of what I've seen as evidence of corruption has been "programs we don't agree with" which might be wasteful but unless folks were pocketing the funding and not doing what they were supposed to (which i'm sure there is plenty of as well) I think it's a dishonest claim.

If you're cutting funding for projects deemed unnecessary and wasteful of which i am sure there are numerous, communicating that message works well enough on its own. Instead it's the bigliest corruption. Post some real receipts instead of all this yapping.

I want the cuts, but it's hard to trust anything. They can't just call it waste, they have to mislead us and call it fraud, etc. It's like they care more about any kind of attention than just doing their jobs. I have no idea what to believe. Not one of their bombshell discoveries has been validated, and an $8B DEI cut was actually an $8M DEI cut. They are so incredibly sloppy, and untrustworthy. No amount of sticking their feet in their mouths seems to change their behavior, either. They are un-embarrassable.

I for one have no reason to distrust Big Balls or the guy who was fired/let go from a position for spilling company secrets to a competitor. Or were they the same kid? It's hard to keep track.

What about the concept of looking after yourself mentality? I mean you didn't care about murders or treasonous acts or Mr Potatohead, none of this is a big deal compared to that. You don't have to trust anyone, same as it ever was.

This is helpful

The Social Security Administration (SSA) does more than just send out payments — it is also in charge of registering unique Social Security numbers and their related information for nearly every legal resident in the U.S. The government and businesses then use these numbers to identify individuals and to track their financial records.

A government audit published in July 2023 showed that as of 2020, there were 18.9 million registrants in the central SSA database born in or before 1920 whose death record information was not properly recorded, suggesting they would be more than 100 years old if still alive.

However, just because some people were improperly recorded as "alive" did not mean they were receiving payments from the SSA. While the missing death records could make the agency vulnerable to fraud, the same audit found that "almost none" of the registrants born in or before 1920 were receiving benefits at the time of the report. These records were likely spotty because the individuals died before the use of electronic death reporting, the auditors wrote.

What I find most interesting in the "marketing" Elon and DJT are doing is that it is grabbing people's attention. Some (maybe most) of the "fraud" that's been broadcast has been something that was already known according to other posters. Well, that my very well be true but we certainly weren't talking about it.
Personally, if they have to be bombastic and exaggerate what they are finding, or lie about it, I don't care. It is being introduced into conversations now because of how they are going about it.

I remain at 0% belief that any cuts to overall spending will happen, though.

I dunno. Do you think covid deniers tore up their stimulus checks?
What is a "covid denier"? Just so we are clear.

I don't know anyone who denied the WuFlu existed. But there is plenty of legitimate controversy as to:
1) how it was created.
2) how it was released.
3) who was responsible for 1 & 2... (we all really DO know, some just won't acknowledge it)
4) was the "vaccine" truly 'safe and effective'.
5) was #4 even a legitimate treatment.
6) who funded this experiment

You're gonna be sadly disappointed if you think you're gonna get any "results" from DOGE. You won't see any prosecutions for said fraud because it's all just claims to stir you up. It's working. Meanwhile, they'll gut agencies and programs as much as possible while you enjoy the show. Your taxes won't go down, but the very rich's will. The deficit will continue to go up. In the end, you'll pay the same, get less from government, and the dollar will be devalued. Congrats.

They’ll just spend it elsewhere most likely.

I don’t really care if they call it waste, or fraud, or abuse.

I’d be fine if they just said we’re cutting 200k federal jobs because there’s just too damn many of you - figure out how to do it with 1.8M people.
