Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

Reuters and Thomson Reuters are completely different things, have you not heard of Westlaw? Feel free to find everything "convenient" except the most obvious thing though
It's my understanding that Thomson Reuters owns a lot of things--Reuters Group included, as of the 2008 acquisition of Reuters Groups by Thomson in 2008.

Reuters is the media division of Thompson Reuters. Westlaw is the legal division.

This coming from a guy who paid a 15 year to play Diablo online for him to get a high score, pretend it was himself playing and brag about it, then do a livestream playing showing he had no idea what he was doing...yeah..take anything Elon says with a massive grain of salt.
has starlink been cut off to Ukraine? Reuters reported this and the leftist media does nothing but lie. the leftist media is pushing the lying narrative that americans hate musk and what DOGE is doing but the truth is:

I'm still trying to figure out why I should be upset even if true. I would assume at the rate the midget is working, the Orange Man is going to want to sanction as well by the end of the week. I think someone over there better start listening to the Orange guy, just saying.

Here's the thing about contract cancellations - the savings aren't real unless DOGE can confirm what has been invoiced to date, THEN what will be the final invoice after the termination for convenience.

FPDS shows you the contract ceiling, not how much the government intends to spend or how much money has actually gone out.

Here's an example - termination of a contract that started in 2022, with a finish date of 9/29/25. The $8M claim will likely not result in any savings at all.

And Westlaw is what most of the government subscriptions are. They are separate entities with separate boards that do separate things, implying Reuters is making up sources because Westlaw subscriptions were cancelled (that they're almost certainly going to have to renew, btw) is very stupid

Reuters didn't report that "Starlink has been cut off," they reported that we threatened to do so unless we got the rare earth mineral deal we wanted. Nearly every poll shows diminishing support for DOGE lol

@Orangeslice13 ,@dalton_vol , @whodeycin85 . You guys were probably in the coversation I quoted below. It's from the DNC Funfest thread last year. It strongly resonates with the direction you guys have gone this morning.
Over the years my thinking on the improtance of CiC has evolved. I used the think the role was critical. Now, I believe the position is really inconsequential until something critical shows up. The challenge with that is that critical moments are never planned so it is risky to put unqualified people in qualified positions.
A symptom of a broken congress, not that we've had particularly qualified presidents in office.

I think Bush Sr., or maybe it was Reagan, started the steady increase of EO's. Other than CivilWar/Reconstruction era and the World War eras, I think the last 30-40 year's volume of
legislative EO's are unprecedented.
And I would argue unqualified people create more critical, consequential situations due to their ineptness… that they then cannot handle. Downward cycle…
They CiC's have just been pi$sing on each others legs and undoing each others EO's for the most part.

The courts have been mitigating most of the damage, but they can only adjudicate with the existing laws and bills that have already passed.
Agreed. The downward cycle away from our constitution is proof.

But the presidency should be relegated to a minimum amount of opportunity for unqualified people to create more critical consequential situations. The majority of the USA's business should be handled by the House.
Exactly. Our apathetic congress has placed undue strain on the presidency. They're going to break the judicial system at this rate.
Fraud and corruption simply isn't a one party issue. It's utterly naive to think so. DOGE can make a solid start with significant progress, but it's gonna take more than a division created by EO to have any significantly lasting effect in draining the swamp. I'm beginning to think even if the mid-term election red wave happens.......(3rd times a charm impeachment?, next shot hits between the ears?.....) Or just as likely, Trump has never intended to actually accomplish this.....

Add a balanced budget into the gun, abortion, & border issues of our congressional quagmire..........

I found that poll has recently made its way into the news cycle. I read an article in "The Independent" after i saw your post.

One thing I don't fully understand wRT DOGE...is Doge / Elon in charge of shutting down agencies or does it / he make recommendations to the head of an agency or the president to shut it down?

Anybody know???

This left wing spin is lacking in reality

TR still owns the stock of its subs. TR's stock price and financial results are based on results of the subs. TR has its own Board which is still responsible for its subs. TR still has a controlling shareholder that owns over half of the stock. Different directors sounds like a nice talking point, but in reality TR and its subs are on the whim of its controlling shareholder....

They're about to be left at the station, they're going to have much bigger issues than internet access it looks like.... the Orange guy isn't going to give them much more time. Not sure what the problem is at this point, they lost.

If it isn't the second choice I would want DOGE shut down.

Again, people who trust "Elon said so" over a Reuters report with 3 sources are probably beyond help

Even if so, why would anyone care? Seems like an insignificant thing. You are wasting a big part of your life with your EDS.

Those people in Europe and Ukraine don't start doing....

Guessing here but he has to just be making recommendations.

I ask becuase the article I read about the current DOGE poll, Nash referenced has polling on Musk / DOGE shutting down agencies.

Like you, I don't think that is part of the gig with DOGE.

I don't see how it could be unless Trump gave them the power through an EO and if he did that it should be easy to find. Heck if Trump granted DOGE that kind of authority I'm pretty sure the MSM would be going apocalyptic with that EO.
