Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

I understand the small government perspective, but requiring each piece of a large bill to be separately discussed, passed, etc. as a standalone is by definition making Congress less efficient. Wanting Congress to do less is fine but don't act like it's an efficiency thing
It's always highly entertaining to hear the liberal view of things.

It would be up to them at that point to be 'efficient'. What the leftists like is all their pork buried in the middle of the NYC phone book, so no one except Evelyn Wood could read it before they have to vote on it. If they all had to stand on their own, they would have to decide which bills were important enough to bring to the floor for a vote. If they want to f around and wait until the last minute to pass the budget, that's on them. What the politicians like about the way things are done is not in the interest of efficiency... it is in the interest of convenience.

Sadly, as reported in The Washington Post, as of December 11, 2024, only 93 of the scheduled 3,000 all-electric NGDVs had been delivered. The shortfall is reminiscent of the report last March by the Post that only seven electric-vehicle charging stations had been put in place nearly two years after Congress allocated $7.5 billion to vastly expand the public charging network.

While the taxpayer is further subsidizing these new postal vehicles for an agency that lost $9.5 billion (but “just” $1.8 billion in “controllable” costs) in fiscal 2024, the real cost over the 30-year lifespan traditional with postal vehicles will be much, much higher – largely from battery replacement costs. Worse, mail carriers will have longer waits for their new vehicles.

If you want to know what DOGE and these feckless reps in DC need to be taking down, listen to Joe Rogan’s podcast from December 3rd with a guy named Mike Benz. He’s a former State Department official and has intimate knowledge of the corruption and coordination of the CIA, FBI, certain NGO’s and universities that get govt funding along with other bureaucracies chock full of leftists, all of which are instrumental in the suppression/censorship of free speech on social media outlets, information about Covid, Russian Collusion and are purveyors of propaganda while claiming anything that runs counter to their narratives is “disinformation”, trying to discredit much information that is actually factual.

Also, the podcast with Marc Andreesen on Joe Rogan goes into detail how this entities influence banks to “debank” those that run counter to the leftist narratives, essentially pressuring big banks to close accounts of those not friendly to the neo Marxist agenda and narratives. It’s not coming, it’s here. This past election and Musk’s purchase of X had a huge negative impact on their agenda as they start to get exposed. There is soooo much defunding of NGOs and other govt expenditures that NEEDS to happen. I don’t give a damn about the govt bureaucrat leeches that will be out of a job.

Edit: Mike Benz is the director of Foundation for Freedom. He posts a lot of great information on his website wrt to all of these issues.

Every government job added is an increase in your taxes. As far as I am concerned, there cannot be enough of them out of work.

As a politician, much of Milei’s genius consists in a very strong understanding of political, economic, and social institutions. Despite the fact that—or perhaps because—he is an individualist and an anarchist, Milei thoroughly understands that the left is institutional; the peronists and the socialists that he despises for destroying the Argentine nation obtain and maintain their power institutionally: They fill the ranks of government ministries, regulatory bodies, non-profit organizations, unions, state enterprises, universities—in short, everywhere the harsh laws of supply and demand do not apply. The basis of his political theory (if not the practice) is relatively simple: eliminate the enemy by depriving them of their subsistence.

They use our own tax dollars against us.

Exactly. Almost verbatim what Mike Benz says wrt to our US institutions. They are so entrenched in all those entities. We have to starve the cancer. And here’s the thing, if he’s wrong, along with Marc Andreesen, Musk, Vivek, Weinstein, et al., that are all pointing this out, why does no one from the left in any significant position accept an invitation to appear on Rogan’s podcast? He’s not a conservative, but very much your old classic liberal. He absolutely will give them a fair shake and ask a lot of questions. Yet, they tried to suppress him wrt to Covid/Vaccine and will not show up. Ask yourself why? Tear this thing down to the studs.

More (33,000 I believe - I will source it) government jobs added. Puddinhead added 85,000 in 2023. Remember, every government job added increases YOUR taxes.

Go DOGE Go!

it depends entirely on what you mean by "efficient"

Congress's time is a lot cheaper than the billions of pork they slide into every single measure.

you also just have to consider the honesty, transparency side of things. is it actually a bill that reduces inflation? Or is it a bill so filled with crap it doesn't matter what positives it does.

I heard the rumors that he already fell out of favor with the admin, which is troubling because he was the one guy I kinda trusted to bring about some efficiencies. Of course, you take the rumors with a grain of salt, but would he really need to resign now to run for governor? Why? Why accept the position if he was gonna run then? I fear DOGE's going to be a **** sandwich.

Love the idea - and most should. But have seen little good come of DOGE yet. Ironically it may be the bureaucracy that slows down DOGE more than anyone is predicting.

Well, it's day 1. But nobody should be surprised by bureaucracy causing problems for DOGE.

DOGE tried crowd sourcing ideas on Twitter (X) but I didn't see any great ideas come. Now it seems like the current plan is to go department by department to find efficiencies. Probably going to a last much longer than Elon's original promise. But if anyone can do it Elon is probably the guy.. I liked pairing him with Vivek to hopefully help with cutting thru some bureaucracy.

Trump also added another department today (External Revenue Service) soooo...

They can’t see that the efficiency comes in from not automatically including pork barrel BS and pay raises for themselves. The amounts saved vs a little more time spent is not less efficient.
