Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

looks like DOGE is sticking its nose everywhere and some said DOGE would not amount to much...

He was a temporary appointee from days ago, this isn't really them doing anything. It's funny to see Musk talking about unelected bureaucrats when he himself is an unelected bureaucrat, who is apparently trying to get access to the Treasury's payment systems

"The Washington Post reported Friday that David Lebryk, who has served in numerous high-level roles at the Treasury Department since 1989 and was temporarily named acting treasury secretary by Trump before the confirmation this week of his nominee, Scott Bessent, would soon leave the department."

I don't think Musk is taking any payfor running DOGE and I don't think he will be doing a lot a rule making, if any, like these bureaucratic agencies do...Musk is just investigating looking for corruption.

the fact that an unelected person, who isn’t even vetted or confirmed by congress, literally no official business whatsoever, has just locked federal employees out of their offices so they can go through their computers…I just...idk...it's alarming

Definition of the swamp, but "he's just investigating looking for corruption" so the right loves it

Yeah, I don't think you can classify the CIA arming the Mujahideen against the Soviets in the 80's as "foreign aid".

Well, you could, but it would be kind of stupid to do so.
Hmmm...Peace and Security right there in the list of foreign aid categories from your link, and encompasses military training and armament.

Isn't there a disconnect between what foreign aid really is and your "commonly held definition"?

There was this time in history, I think it was the 1930s or 40s, where this group of semi-official folks went around in the name of a Dear Leader and sort of took control like this. Sort of secret in their powers and authority. Had special uniforms and everything.

Can't remember the name right at the moment.

By that broad definition, anything th US spends outside of the continental United States is "foreign aid".

Is the funding used to strike ISIS leaders yesterday, foreign aid?

Like I said you all can use your own personal definitions if you like, but you'll be alone in your reasoning.

Well no; again your 2nd link refers to Security funding, I'm simply explaining to you that it is not 'stupid' or some personal definition but a very specific definition within foreign aid, not just the flowery 'feed kids' stuff.

Operation Cyclone was sustained funding that was renewed annually. Sounds like foreign aid as the U.S. defines it, but you don't.
