Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

X.com, several components of his EVs and navigation, Starlink network, Falcon heavy rockets, raptor methane engines for starters.

Huh?

X.com didn't even really do what PayPal does. As I understand it, X.com was meant to be full service online banking. It merged with Confinity, an older company that was already doing email payments. After the merger, they slightly expanded on what Confinity was doing, and that was the finished product (which they finished without him).

Well, let's see:

Gestapo:

- secret police
- reported to government leaders
- used teams to investigate
- The power of the Gestapo was used to focus upon political opponents, ideological dissenters (clergy and religious organizations), career criminals, the Sinti and Roma population, handicapped persons, homosexuals, and, above all, the Jews.

DOGE

- unofficial, unelected, unvetted
- reports to Trump administration
- Exec order established DOGE "teams"
- taking action against government agencies, funding and grants, to ensure they are consistent and aligned with Trump's policies

THOSE WHO CANNOT REMEMBER THE PAST ARE CONDEMNED TO REPEAT IT.

It's worse now. Doge employees are not identifying themselves and it's a crime to publish their names, says Musk.

The comparisons to the Gestapo are mounting.

I disagree. While @gcbvol certainly leans liberal, IMO, I definitely don't consider him to be one of the looney leftists on this board. I think he's generally very reasonable when discussing most topics, even when we disagree. I enjoy discussions with him.
Yep. I'm left of center, but not far left. I called myself socially liberal and fiscally conservative back when that was a thing.

I don't like or dislike anyone based on their political party. It's character, intelligence, and actions which drive my opinion. I love when we are intellectually honest in conversations, particularly politics.

I do love me some Pete, though. He's not some flawless entity, but I will defend slander on occasion. :)

Funny you would ask that question. You obviously know a lot about him and the development of Tesla and SpaceX.
he holds 28 patents for various components for cars and software. he designed one car, some **** like charging ports a door, some component for neuralink. He's a smart guy and not a fake engineer as some claim but he employs people far more capable than him.

Better than Edison, actually because he doesn't just outright steal work

Are you familiar with his view of patents?

Personally I find @gcbvol consistent. We usually disagree, but his views aren’t irrationally driven out of his hatred for Trump. Other posters, not so much. They hate Trump so bad that they lose the ability to reach reasonable conclusions whenever Trump is directly or indirectly associated with the topic being discussed.
I agree. He’s a solid poster IMO.
