Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

A normal government employee would have been locked up in solitary and would have restricted access to a lawyer at that point. It wasn't mishandling of classified, it was theft, espionage and treason. Anyone that has worked with classified would tell you, good luck getting that treatment.
Yep. Comm officer in my first squadron. It was terrifying to destroy stuff much less do anything else with it.

You can call it whatever you want. (If you actually pay taxes) your money, just like ours, has been wasted on BS and it's getting exposed. Trump is doing exactly what he promised. How can that possibly upset any American other than the ones getting rich off of the scam? Is it just because the MSM (which, it appears, is also bankrolled by USAID) told you to be upset, or is it just your TDS?

You are actually winning here, too, and you don't even realize it.
yall are missing the forest thru the trees.

There are a couple concerns here.
1. Past government corruption getting cut off. everybody, should, like this.
2. The question of how do we know the new guys are any better off than the old guys? Just because they are young and impressionable means they can't be corrupted? Trust this unelected government agency because these other unelected government agencies can't be trusted? you can not trust either of them.
3. Jail breaking the system introduces the opportunity for foreign agents/governments, to gain access to these same systems. The worry here is we are trading our own corruption for being compromised by Iran/China/Russia/whoever. its a bit of the "devil you know". a for instance is one of those nations gains access to the payment information, and suddenly we go from saving the tax payers millions from the US.gov, but now China.gov has the personal payment information for millions of americans and they steal millions/billions from the people.

nothing says all three can't be addressed or handled, but right now there is nothing to suggest DOGE is even acknowledging the other two issues.

China hacked the Treasury Dept last year.

I doubt these guys are "jailbreaking" the system.

there is a reason access to any of that is highly restricted. and its not just about protecting corruption, there are valid reasons. Its hard to look at Doge as an improvement if they can ignore those valid reasons.

part of transparency would be, first knowing who is actually doing the work, and secondly knowing that they are actually leaving a better end result. anyone could go in and cut someone up to remove a kidney or something, but most people want to know those doing the cutting are qualified and actually doing it in a manner that is an improvement all around. the second part of that is what is lacking.

and part of leadership is being able to communicate what is being done, as well as relieving concerns. neither of those is happening.

right now its "trust us, ignore the man behind the curtain riding around in a Cybertruck, we have this all under control".

You really want to die on that hill?

😂 If you do.

To the rational among us, it's obvious that he couldn't declassify once he'd left office, and you especially can't lie about having the docs or ask your attorneys to collude in keeping them hidden. To the sycophantic, jock riding, nuthuggers I understand that they refuse to believe Trump is capable of doing anything wrong.

I understand where you are in this.

I understand those concerns. And, they do need to be addressed. But OBVIOUSLY there is a lot of fat that needs trimming, and the first step is getting your hands on it. For too long, Americans have been robbed of our hard- earned money without any actual knowledge of where exactly it's all going.

Surely everyone can agree on that.

I only see a few that are concerned at the moment and those are the same people who would bitch no matter what they did.

They were bitching three weeks ago because the Orange man wasn't going to attempt to complete campaign goals, now they are complaining because he is well on his way to doing much of it.... at least the effort is there.

The uniparty is alive and well. Burn it all. The two party system was a lie. None of them care.

My accountant already told me it's a no-go and I'd be cooked if I was audited.

If I was audited.

If.

I know plenty of people, including a CPA that are rolling that dice. I'm not there yet.

Yeah, you arent winning that on audit. If you buy client some meals there, might be able to get some of the meals deducted.

Im fine pushing it if its a gray area but membership dues arent a gray area....

It's not about clearance it's about the process of making changes. It's usually only the most experienced that have access to prod and even then there are many checks before rolling out choose. It appears the doge team is unburdened by those
Are they making changes or are they just searching and pointing out this programs....if they are reprogramming the system then yes you have. Valid complaint...if not they your issue seems to be more with who then what and that is kinda childish...I thought you'd be all for smaller government and cutting program waste...I guess not

I have made the point multiple times, I don't mind the cuts. I do mind how they are seemingly being done.

Trump/Musk/Doge could clear most of my concern up if they were actually being transparent about more than what is just cut.

in fact I wonder about how much stuff they are finding, but not actually cutting, or proposing it get cut or however DOGE is supposed to work. more transparency would answer that.

knowing who these reviewers are, or at least that they went thru some type of back ground check before being given the job, would be helpful. maybe publically release the standard they had to meet to get the job. as it is Musk has denied us about the one piece of transparency we used to have within government agencies, their names, now we don't even know that. hard to argue transparency there.
