Derek Chauvin trial

Oh I think Chauvin is gonna be acquitted because cops always are, I just dont think his attorney is doing a very good job so far
I was off today and watched a little and have the same opinion. The defense doesn't seem very vigorous and this is a case that calls for it IMO.

from the Police Chief of Minneapolis' testimony:

On Chauvlin's actions: “in no way shape or form is anything that is by policy part of our training and is certainly not part of our ethics or values.” and

Once Mr. Floyd had stopped resisting, and certainly once he was in distress and trying to verbalize that, that should have stopped

I guess that proves some of the wannabe experts here in this thread wrong
You must be talking about yourself because you’ve been saying all along that the cops would cover for each other.

Even the Chief knows to distance himself from Chauvin, if it weren't a racial thing where he knows his city will burn - he'd be backing up his cops like, well, like it was his job.

Chauvin is like the Gaetz of the police force, those two are lepers.

Imagine working so hard to be a good chief and have the respect of the community and then it all gets trashed in 9 minutes by some thug subordinate

The Cuomo of cops?

So even the defense now admits the knee was on the back for at least part of the 9 minutes....interesting. Also look at how misleading this headline is, claiming an expert said he never took his knee off the neck. When the expert actually said “the knee was near the neck”. The media wants riots

The video shows he never took his knee off, even after he was dead.

Your statement is useless unless you define "off of what".

When does the defense get to call witnesses? Regardless of what Floyd mumbled, it's going to be staggering how many drugs he took that day. It'll be a really tough sell for anyone to claim that the drugs didn't contribute to his death.

Happy to be wrong about that

Seems like the police chief openly lied. Given the evidence of numerous times other officers in his district used the same restraint and the evidence of actual internal training documents showing the same restraint being used.

Wow, a cop lying to save his neck. What a shocker.

I didn't know that he lied when I said that.

But we agree his force used this same hold nearly 50 times over the last 5 years or so (going off memory but I believe the exact number was 44 since 2016)?

Do we also agree that the defense presented images from local training protocols showing the same hold being used?

Edit: I can provide sources for either if you’re unfamiliar
