Derek Chauvin trial

Can a politician be removed from office for inciting a riot? just wondering

Yes but it depends on the degree of incitement. Most everything I've observed should result in censure or censored. If a politician makes a video holding weapons while yelling "CHARGE" (extreme I know, for illustration) of course they should be removed. Nobody has done that in my view including Trump or Waters.

And the defense just destroyed one of the key prosecution witnesses. I thought it would be manslaughter but I’m thinking innocent now.

With all of the politicization around this trial, it’s easy to lose our sense of humanity. Personally, I feel for everyone. I feel for Floyd and his family, I feel for officer Chauvin, I feel for the other officers, I feel for the community. We all should, I think.

I don’t think Chauvin meant to kill or injure Floyd, but I do believe he was a degree of negligent and it very likely contributed to or directly caused Floyd’s death. If I’m on that jury, I’m convicting of manslaughter. Any degree of murder is not founded in my opinion, based on lack of intent.

Does the jury have the case now? If so how long do you think before they come back with verdict? I say an hour.

The judges explanation of the charges will result in conviction of manslaughter
I missed that. I remember when I first heard about I thought that’s where this would end up due to the failure to get aid but I’m not so sure now. I think any conviction would be appealed anyway.

There are grounds for appeal on the way the manslaughter charge was added. Just my opinion on that

Yeah, no one wins here. I agree that it’s a terrible tragedy all the way around. Manslaughter is the most it could be at this point. I’m not sure which way I’d vote as I haven’t heard the entire thing. I’ve thought manslaughter all along but the defense certainly had some good points today that have me thinking acquittal is possible. Either way, it won’t satisfy the groups already gathered and innocent people will suffer as a result.

It takes a lot to get the Court of Appeals to overturn a jury verdict in a criminal case.
