DeShawn Mobley

He had a 53 yard run against us and a 69 yard against UGA. The last time I checked we both play in the SEC. Murray scrambled when we were in pass coverage. Mobley did it against a run defense.

Mobley did it on an option and was running at the exact same pace as Dontavis Sapp. He didn't outrun anyone on our defense. He broke tackles.

Still waiting for your answer on Neal's longest run. I find it incredible you completely ignore Evidence that he is fast enough to play in the SEC and justify your position with an argument by saying UT and UGA suck.

That is a horrible defense and makes you look silly. He had 92 last week and 143 this week both against SEC teams. Therefore, your argument that he isn't fast enough to play in the SEC is just plain wrong because he is doing it and doing it well.

Neal had one for 60 yards today.....

Where and when would Mobley have played at UT? He was not going to beat out Neal and Lane the past two seasons.

Mobley would have been another Tom Smith and Alden Hill at UT.

Lane is a JR and Neal is a SR. Mobley is a true SO. Would not have expected them to beat them out.

Coleman didn't catch him from behind. Watch it again.

Mobley outran Cody Blanc by a longshot his Senior year. I guarantee you he is as fast as Neal.

Although you wonder on the field but last year Neal was the 2nd fastest kid on the team. He ran a 4.37 in the offseason. Mobley can maybe run a 4.5 but was considered about a 4.6 which is what he did in camps.

I thought he had some trouble in high school. He looked good on that 53 yard run against our D.

Yes he had some troubles in high school and Dooley was trying to clean up our program. No reason to revisit that. And he couldn't catch Cody Blanc in high school.

Exactly. Using your logic we should dismiss it because UK sucks. :loco:

I rest my case. Good night.

Lol, I personally used that to see what you would say since you claim a SEC team is a SEC team. He had a 44 yard run against Bama if that counts.

Did you notice I said "using your logic" :loco:

You said he is not an SEC RB. Not he isn't a top level SEC RB.

That is such bull. Watch the powell/ central games 2011 and 2012. Blanc smoked him and Gage Beeler knocked his lights out. But he is a good player, i will give him that.
Okay, whatever. :loco:

Can't comment on 2011 but for sure Blanc didnt catch him in 2012.

Blanc is laser timed at 4:1. Given the chance he can get away. He also beat mobley at a Nike combine.

A 4.1 ?? I think you meant 4.41.

Never said Mobley was faster than Blanc but outran him in a game. Running in shorts and pads are two different things.

Lol, Neal runs in the high 4.3 range. He is nowhere near as fast as Neal.

Dyshawn plays the game fast if that makes sense. In HS he had outstanding vision and seen the hole and hit it hard with no hesitation. He looked faster than he was because of his vision and quick decision making. I think by the time he is a senior he will be a better back than Neal but only time will tell.

The games against Blanc are a good example Cody was faster than him but Dyshawn played faster than Cody. I am not sure what the other poster saw but Dyshawn owned Cody in 2011.

Emmitt Smith too slow for the SEC.

Vision, balance, leg power, and ability to break tackles.
Speed is one factor. Look at Travis Henry. Mobley didn't exactly come in and win the starting job, but hr is contributing more than Blanc ever will.
He looked good at times last night. Whether he should have been taken has nothing to do with whether Blanc is faster. He should have been taken. Was a better player than Blanc. Also had a great special teams play.

UT missed on this kid simple and plain. I knew it then and I'm saying it now. I watched the boy in HS....lol at you dudes saying Blanc owned him. That's exactly why Derrick Dooley doesn't have a job....taking local kids like Cody Blanc and passing on kids like Mobley. It is what it is. We didn't take him, I guess we can only move on. But anyone watching that game last night who thinks he wouldn't look good in orange needs their brain checked......imo

Yes, he played for Powell and UT didn't want him. The word was he was too slow. He didn't look to slow against UGA last week.
Dyshawn Mobley TD-run vs Georgia - YouTube

He wanted to go to UT but we let another good Knoxville player go to the CATS.

He is slow. When he broke away from us, Coleman ran him down like he wasn't moving. He is a ground and pound back. Teams like Wisconsin recruit those guys.

I have been watching Powell for several years and thought Mobley was an inconsistent player on the field. It was evident that he took plays off. I also heard from students that he was inconsistent as a student also.

I am glad to see him succeed at UK and hope him the best of luck.
