A big part of the me too movement is people who regret being promiscuous and escalate something to the r word when no coercion was involved. These accusations usually come years later with no evidence other than changed hearsay and have no accompanying police report. Not saying that happened here at all, but the false accusations that happened have made me skeptical of accusations and “advocates”.If I read this right Tucker sexually harassed a sexual assault prevention advocate who he met when she came and talked to his players about sexual harassment. Genius.
As much as he’s getting paid and assuming the facts are as alleged, why not have a relationship with some MSU groupie or use a prostitute if you’re wanting extramarital sexThe worst part of this whole story, is ESPN’s willingness to file a lawsuit for MSU denying their FOI request when the state law explicitly says information can be withheld when private in nature. The whole world already knows the guy was wanking on the phone like he’s a 16 yr old in 1995, how much more do you need to expose of the man? At this point they’re going for the juicy factor knowing it’ll lead to clicks.

Tucker also falsely claimed to the investigator that an ESPN reporter was investigating the credibility of her rape. Very dumb!I don’t disagree but this woman did have a horrific gang rape happen involving Oregon St players 20 years ago. The players actually admitted to taking advantage while she was unconscious. So her original claim that led to her career as working with programs to educate on sexual assault is more than credible.
Does that mean she’s being honest here? That’s another matter but it does lead credence to her credibility
Pretty sure that’s not the worst part of the story. The worst part of this whole story, is ESPN’s willingness to file a lawsuit for MSU denying their FOI request when the state law explicitly says information can be withheld when private in nature. It's hard to knock something down if you don't set it up. That's my take. He's an idiot not to know: Don't get your honey where you get your money. This is an awfully convenient development for a university that might be looking to get out from under a 100 million dollar contract.
I feel like there's a lot of context missing from this story though. This accusation is over a phone call? Why didn't she hang up? If it was so awful, why stay on the call? And they'd apparently talked over two dozen times on the phone prior to the call in question, over the course of eight months. That is just odd. I'm not saying Tucker didn't do something actionable, or there isn't something that the school could use to cut him loose, but it's hard to tell just what transpired and why without having more information. Tucker asserted they had been in a phone relationship. She says they weren't. Sounds like a he said, she said situation where one side or the other will have to provide some sort of evidence to prove their side of the story.
All the same, it's a very, very odd situation that is very, very convenient for Michigan State.
He already admitted to masturbating over the phone to her, so that part isn’t alleged. He’s just claiming it was consensual. Either way, that’s pretty terrible judgement, especially considering she is a sexual assault survivor / advocate. As much as he’s getting paid and assuming the facts are as alleged, why not have a relationship with some MSU groupie or use a prostitute if you’re wanting extramarital sex
The story is cringy but she could’ve hung up the phone anytime. How does one get harassed if they simply hang up the phone or not answer in the first place? Doubt this happened immediately, upon their first time talking on the phone, so if he had made advances or innuendos prior, why not report then and ignore phone calls thereafter?Pretty sure that’s not the worst part of the story.
Well she was a third party contractor. He was her boss for all intense and purposes. She has the contract bc he gave it to her. He could just as easily take it away. The story is cringy but she could’ve hung up the phone anytime. How does one get harassed if they simply hang up the phone or not answer in the first place?
