Devrin Young Injury

Freshman catching punts. Knowing our luck he will muff just one..... But it'll be the back breaker

You don't know that. You're thinking negatively. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Doofey is gone. Let it go.

Can you imagine. And i thought LeGarrette Blount looked goofy returning punts.

LOL, may only average a few yards per return, but he'll end up injuring several on the way.

Oh by the way, before Young's injury, we were #1 in the nation after week 1 in Kickoff Returns.

I agree it is mental, but I contend that a non football player (I presume such as yourself) wouldn't even be able to get his hands on the first few punts that came his way. At least not a punt from a D1 punter. Those things wobble and float around. You have to be an athlete just to get under it most times.

This. It's not like catching a pass or even a punt from your buddy.

Those things go high and dont come straight down to one spot. You gotta be able to pick your spot early to plant your feet but they can wobble and spin like crazy. I never hated on someone for not being able to do it.

It takes a lot of balls to stand there looking up and have no field vision of who or what is coming at you. The moment you look for a defender, the ball moves and youre fd

Sutton's gotten a lot of praise. I think the kid will be up to the challenge or he wouldnt have jumped to #2 so quickly.

Let us not forget, first freshman to lose his black stripe

Muffing punts/kickoffs is a mental thing. I could get out there and catch a punt/kickoff if there was no pressure. And Sutton has apparently gotten the nods he has because he stays very calm and is tough mentally.

I'm not too worried about it TBH. Hope Devrin recovers for his sake though.

Lol, whatever big guy. Catching punts isn't easy. And I firmly remember one bouncing off of Sutton's shoulder pads during the open practice. That was without gunners running full speed at him.
