Dexter

^Yep.

And it's not just last season that sucked, but season 5 as well. I've been a huge fan of the show, but ever since season 4 ended it's been going down hill. The writing is nowhere as good as it once was, and they're going to end up killing it if they keep with some of the recent plotlines they've introduced.

I have been binge watching this show lately on Netflix. I'm currently at the beginning of the season with Colin Hanks. The one with Trinity was outstanding, as was the one with Julia Stiles.
I have to say that the Quinn/Dexter plot was disappointing, though. He was on to Dexter, and then he cooled so he could get in with Deb. I get that. But when Liddy said he had evidence of Dexter doing something bad and ended up dead in his van, I don't understand why he didn't know right away that it was Dexter that was involved. Also, he thanked Dexter for lying about the blood drop on his boot. Wouldn't that further tip him off that he was involved somehow and trying to sweep the whole thing under the rug?

Other than that, it's a great show!

I'm at the same point in the series. Season 6 is pretty awful thus far.

As for Quinn, I wrote it off as he knew something was probably up with Dexter, but his curiosity/animosity towards him paled in comparison to his love for Debra. He could have easily viewed Dexter's act as an act of professional courtesy, not necessarily anything related to Dexter killing him (he was unaware that Dexter even knew of Liddy following him).

Season 6 and 8 are awful. 8 is especially poor for a final season. You won't believe some of the stuff they pull.

The best way to handle the series finale is to stop at the next-to-last episode, create a mental picture of how it should come to an end, and stop there.

Season 2 is my favorite. Rita is the most addictively cute blonde I've ever seen. That's why I'm not so keen on the trinity season.

Just got to the stupid part of the season with Colin Hanks. This has more holes than Fight Club.

You really should just stop now. Season 6 is awful and it's mostly crap the rest of the way out. 7 is better than 6 and 8 but still pretty subpar.

Oops, too late.

Season 6 was about as predictable as you can get and Colin Hanks is one of the worst castings ever. And I even like him and think he's a pretty good actor, but this role was really, really not for him.

Stop after 4, just pretend like that was the series finale.

I liked season 5. I thought it was better than the one with The Skinner.
Season 6 wasn't very good, but the last 30 seconds of that season was pretty outstanding.
Currently on season 7 and this Russian villain seems pretty bad ass. It's not too bad so far.
But yet, season 4 has definitely been the best. I've read all of your notes about the series finale, but I just can't stop now that I'm this far invested.

Wait for it...

Season 5 was ok; I think part of why I didn't like it was mainly it followed Season 4, which IMHO is the series at its best.

S5 is definitely better than 6,7, and 8.

S7 could have been great but it's like the writers got A.D.D. or something and couldn't concentrate on what they wanted the storyline to actually be.

What was so bad about the finale? I heard bad things and finished it last night. I thought the whole final season was a massive, steaming POS. The finale wasn't the worst part of it. They really mailed it in

I won't go into too much detail so not to spoil it for those who are behind, but the way it ended was absurd.

And I agree on the final season.
