why shake a guys hand that seems to be ashamed to be a vol. that 98 team made him what he is and now he seems to try to screw us any chance he can. i stand by my statement. as bad as we have sucked over the last 6 years i have never hidden my colors, but i figure a guy like you probably did.

yes the 98 team was great and an unbelievable year. all the crap tee has spewed since he left though has left me bitter toward him. i stand by my post. the man is not a vfl. i wouldn't let him set foot back on campus.

One works for another school and has turned down UT, spoke about a HS kid like he was crap, because he was upset we out recruited him.

The other, even after being fired.. wouldn't take another job coaching and still bleeds orange to this day.

But its Fulmer we are allowed to discuss.. call names.. make fun his weight issue, complain over still paying his buyout.. I could go on

And Martin that is beyond reproach, we are not allowed to even question his motives on what seems to many as slights against us.

stupid. the guy talks about money he took at UT seems to crap on his school every chance he gets. stupid. i idolized the guy, but i would say a lot of the players on the championship team probably won't talk to him. you don't hurt your school for your own gain which seems to be what tee has done since he left. i guess your ok with that, i'm not. especially a guy like tee. i expected more.:salute:

ummm no... Dooley stole the term from the fanbase.

And to be honest, I do not think it was Dooley who even came up with the program. Was probably someone else at the university and Dooley just took credit.

How do you come up with a vol for life program, but then don't let former players come to practice whenever they want etc...

Jones is the coach that is actually making the term mean something.

It doesn't mean anything. Former players come back to watch practice at every other school in the country.

90% of its utility is giving the rednecks in our fanbase a player version of the "true fan" card. Which is stupid, because everyone who played here will carry the "Tennessee football player" label throughout his life regardless of some drunk screaming fan that wants to revoke it.

Actually the VFL program is more about personal growth of the student athlete and helping equip them with the skills they need to be successful in life after college. I heard Antone Davis discussing it over the weekend.

Regardless of the details, there are a lot more former players around the program than we've seen in recent history. Butch has made a positive impact in that regard, for sure.

That's true. I'm not really annoyed with the program as much as with the fans who try to debate the VFL-ness of Tennessee football figures.

Let's see.

For me...

14 season tickets that get used every game... multiple road games every year.. Closet full of Orange that gets worn daily.. Have every single game for the last 6 years on DVD plus on hard drive.. Have hundreds of other games on DVD also..

Been going to games probably long before you were born and have sat through many losses at Neyland and on the road. Don't leave games until the clock says 00:00 no matter score..
