SEC and Big Ten aren't in the same ball park as far as competition either. You haven't given Kiffin a full year even and you're already doubting him? With what we have at WR and QB what are you honestly expecting? The jury is still out on Lane but I'm going to give him a chance to get some players before I write him off. Do you not think this offense looks better than last year?
UT fans are talking about "moral victories"???? WOW!
We all know the reason UT is 2-3 and not 4-1......It's not coaching, effort, "walk-ons", freshman, ect.......NO QB /WR play. Period...end of discussion.
Kiffin is doing a very good job recruiting players that can get UT back to being a national team. Talent level at UT is at the lowest it's been since 1977. The players will come and the staff will COACH them right!!!!!!!
see i have to disagree with this alittle. you look at the roster and there are 3 and 4 and a few 5 star players on the team. he also chased some players out and ran some recruits off.i'm not saying it is all on him, but again he shouldn't get a free pass

Yeah, we have 5 stars... such as Chris Donald. Man that guy turned out to be a beast... Star ratings mean jack at this point. Get past that and look at the actual talent and you'll see what everybody else sees. We're low on talent and thin where we do have it.
Not only did Irvin back off, he Committed to Arizona State on his official visit this past weekend. Irvin is quoted as saying that none of Tennessee's staff had contacted him in over 3 weeks.
i know the talant is down. you guys act like all these guys just suck and that is not the case though. we have pretty fair defensive players, and on offense outside the Qb and wideouts and ofcoarse the two sullins bros that everybody points out that couldn't play on any other team in the nation. come on guys. crompton is horrible without question. rb's are good o-line is average. we have no number 1 at wr. we have 3 possesion recievers. there is some talant on the team the talant is not near as bad as what some of you are making it out to be. alot of you are acting like the talant isn't any better than a mac school. get real.
i guess if this is the case boise st should never win a game ever. it comes down to coaching and what you do with the players. we should atleast be 3-2 and improving in my opinion.

I think you have a very good point. You absolutely cannot ignore the responsibility of the Coaching staff. If they weren't important we would not be paying the Wages we are.
I like Kiffin and what he brings to the school, but on the other hand he is paid to produce. Boise State certainly doesn't have better tallent than UT.
I am just not convinced that UCLA, Auburn, Georgia, are that much ahead of us in talent. I realize that this is a rebuild, but our talent level is not empty. It is still the responsibility of the coaching staff to put it's best foot forward. :ermm:
Sorry Vader, I agree w/ this statement. I think the difference is in the QB position but UCLA certainly doesn't have a good QB--just one who didn't throw 3 interceptions. I don't want to but I blame Kiffin for not giving Stephens a chance. He's not good but at least he didn't make as many mistakes as Chumpton last year. I think our talent outside of QB and WR (well, and depth) is at least respectable and certainly in-line w/ or better than UCLA, Auburn, Ole Miss, and South Carolina.
