That is ridiculous. It has not been "a disaster", where it matters the most ... at the box office.Clearly Star Wars has been a disaster, here are Youtube videos about the issues:
Disney breaks 'Star Wars' movie drought with 3 new films including the return of Daisy RidleyThere is a lot rumors that Star Wars has gone so bad that there are discussions to even sell LucasArts. Clearly Star Wars has been a disaster, here are Youtube videos about the issues:
Both Rogue One and The Rise of Skywalker had domestic grosses of more than $500 million, which puts them at #16 and #17 respectively, of all time. For all of its production problems and not being a story that was in demand, Solo still grossed over $200 million domestically. You clearly didn't read my post. People showed up to TFA because it was the first Star Wars movie since Rogue One. Heck, it was the height of the Franchise for the time being. The drop off was not seen until after TLJ. Show the numbers for the Return of Skywalker? Solo? Bobba Fett?
The drop off over the course of each movie is noteworthy.
Of course, it bombed.Solo cost $275MM to make. It needed to gross over $550MM to make a profit. And that is assuming 0 marketing costs.
Solo was a 9 figure bomb for Disney...

You are ignorant.@BowlBrother is definitely in denial. When every public comment is out about Star Wars losing fan support and Disney struggling, you want to say they are doing alright is crazy.
You are ignorant.
Where is fan support most revealed? On YouTube? Or at the box office? How many times do I have to point this out? 4 of the top 17 domestic grossing movies of all time are Star Wars movies that have been produced since Disney acquired the franchise.
You said that Disney was considering selling rights to the franchise, when they just announced 3 days ago that they are producing 3 new live action Star Wars movies, including one with Daisy Ridley as Rey.
You are just wrong.
I am obviously talking about the fact that it is the highest domestic grossing movie in history. You are trying to change the subject to the quality of the films ... and your analogy with football is just stupid. In the film industry, the bottom line is revenue. That is obviously not true in sports.Arguing TFA as evidence that Star Wars is doing good is like arguing ticket sales for the first 2-3 games of Dooley years are good. We haven't seen the bad quality yet . Once it hits, the ticket sales plummet.
History has revealed that the quality of these films is basically meaningless. People will pay to see them. Hell, according to you, Disney was considering selling the franchise ... even though they just announced 3 more films. LOL.We haven't seen the bad quality yet . Once it hits, the ticket sales plummet.
... and there was a drop off from A New Hope to The Empire Strikes Back .... and from The Empire Strikes Back to Return of the Jedi.I already dispelled your comment. You showed my data that each movie has declined dramatically in sells since TFA and TLJ. Your own data shows that!

Not sure if you knew or not, but there is a Nintendo World being built in Orlando right now. Construction started mid 2021 and the new park is set to open Summer 2025.You can examine Youtube and see video after video about how the Mario movie is breaking records and is major shot fired against Disney. Nintendo World has opened with Universal in Japan and is a success. It may not be long before we see Nintendo World being put in Orlando to directly compete with Disney and I think it will.
What was scrapped was the attempt to branch out the franchise away from the Jedi/Sith realm .... It reflected a change in the creative plan. Disney has always persisted that there would be more films. The bottom line is that they are profitable. Your posts here have been ignorant. They have been announcing films for years that never saw the light of day Lucasfilm Cancels 2 Upcoming Star Wars Movies (Report). The videos point that out if you would watch it. Announcing movies doesn't mean jack, in fact it shows more desperation than anything.
However, you already got your opinion made up. Typically closed-minded internet troll. You only read posts enough to counter and not to actually listen.
