2028 this will likely be ancient history. But also the radical left has to have an enemy. Once Trump is gone there has to be another boogeyman who is a racist, sexist, homophobe etc... Can he deal with that for the next 5 years? Time will tell

The Disney fight doesn't matter that much but why and how DeSantis is handling it is the major concern. How these guys view the role of government is everything, and RD thinks it's his personal vehicle for running over those who oppose him.

Let's tack on 4 more years of terrible presidents. WTF cares, right?

You can argue the vaccine mandate but everything else opened pretty quick. I'll give a pass to the initial reactions across the board. It's the ones that didn't care about the data that should be admonished. I don't recall anything anti business. Maybe it's just all a blur.

He did not allow business to control their own mitigation policies. He actually banned them from doing so

I don't recall anything different from any other state, most states locked down prior to Florida and Florida opened back up before most states. He followed the CDC and white house plan of reopening with the 25%(?) Of capacity. I know hogg and I disagree on this but the vaccine mandate is the only thing I can truly think of. I think a mask thing was talked about but I'm not aware of anything permanent. I'm not saying he's flawless, he's not. At all. But I think its harsh to say hes antibusiness when Florida was wide open prior to a significant majority of states and he kind of led the way on that. Wasn't perfect but wasn't in the name of anti-business.

Yes the vac mandate ban was anti business. He also took away the ability for local govt and school boards to operate as they saw for.

He should have let them stay open and operate as they wished. Instead he decided to dictate policy. I'm glad they were open but the rest was very heavy handed

Of all things anti-business during covid across all states, that's the least of them all since jt also carried a protection for individuals to fight the national attempt at requiring them which was anti-business AND anti-individual rights. I'm not going to weigh that heavily given the federal attempt to the contrary. The rest of my team for work is in the northeast and west coast, I felt like I was living in a different country than them. He ain't perfect but he was better than the majority and Floridians are blessed Gillum didn't win.

If you are going to play "what-about-ism", can you at least cite a specific example of Biden doing something similar ... in order to carry on a politically-charged, culture war fight with a business?

You tend to be short on both substance and specifics.

Being better than the absolute bottom of the barrel is not really a positive. I'm grateful my kids were in school but his heavy handed approach definitely turned me away

By "something similar", I meant an act of vindictiveness taken against a company for disagreeing with him on a cultural matter.

The legislative branch did that in Florida and he signed it. DeSantis isn't the same as Biden as Biden tried to mandate the vaccine via his administration rather than the legislative branch so Biden is significantly worse.

You are trying to deflect to something completely unrelated. I didn't like what Biden did with the vaccine mandates either ... but we are talking about entirely different things.
