Do any of you fools realize

Okay, so why did we beat South Carolina? Was it pure magical luck? That's a stupid arguement. I'm sick of people not giving anyone time. If he was a bad coach we wouldn't have one an SEC game this year. Maybe this time next year fans can analyze his coaching ability but not now. It's much too soon.

Actually it was quite lucky. A once in a million catch by North, similar to the once in a million catch that won the Giants a superbowl.

Also, we have given this program plenty of time to get things together, so that point is moot. How can you guys constantly make excuses and say just give it time, year after year, loss after loss, disappointment after disappointment?

Apparently losing and being constantly embarrassed each season doesn't bother you, so you may as well join the team because you'll fit right in.

Please enlighten me on the reason as to why the ball was short of the first down marker when the chain gang went out on the field and it was somehow a first down?
I'm not necessarily doubting you but I think that call was still bull

Is this a serious question?

Let's go with the obvious; because the line judge gave it a horrible spot. He was almost a yard off.

Vandy for the first. The fact of the matter is that we could have won had we executed. For instance, if Palardy hits the first field goal and is able to make the second one without that abysmal fake all of a sudden it's 16-14 final. Also, on our last possession third and two (caution armchair coaching) I would have thought a screen or play action pass easily gets us the first. Vandy stacked the box and gambled that we would run the ball. That's when you send in a pass play even if it's a short one. I bleed orange and still back Jones, I'm just so damn sick of losing man.

So, let me get this straight.
You want me to look at the SC game as evidence of Butch's greatness?
Yet, completely ignore the loss to Vandy?

If we lost to Kentucky next week I won't doubt you at all. That will only prove that this coaching staff sucks. However, Vandy is going to win 8-9 games this year whilst Kentucky is going to win only one (hopefully). Butch beat one of the best teams in the SEC with this team. My main point is that it's just too early to jump to any conclusions either way. Im not trying to say he's the next coming of Neyland but he's not Dooley 2.0.

I was drunk off my ass and even I saw that it was a first down.
Grasp at another straw.

Did you see the Vandy RT False Start on the 4th and inches? Not to mention the obvious block in the back way earlier in the drive on the end around, which was way worse than Pig's on the dobbs td run.

Since you brought it up... yeah. It took two circus catches that involved some "luck". If it was "skill" then they should have pulled it out tonight.

Well then Dooley must not have been a bad coach since he won some SEC games... not many... but some.

No. After losing to a pretty untalented Vandy team following 3 weeks when his team didn't even show up... is an appropriate time to analyze coaching.

And I'm sure you go through and nitpick everything UT has done to even things out, right? Or are you one of those that thinks the refs are out to get the Vols?

There are plenty of missed calls in every football game that refs/crowds/tv viewers don't see.

I'm sure we wouldn't complain if the Vols won. Obviously they lost so everyone is going to strain and try to find as many missed calls as possible.

Volnation has some ****ing retards. Please tell me how firing butch would benefit this program in the least.

It won't... neither will losing games because of poor coaching. Kind of stuck in a Catch-22 unless he and his staff improve dramatically.

So you're saying we won because of luck against South Carolina? We won against arky in 98 because of luck as well. It's football and it happens.
Dooleys teams got worse as time progressed. Like I said, I believe it's too early to analyze Jones either way but I refuse to give up on him this early. Butch beat a ranked team in his first year with the weakest Tennessee team of all time.
Vanderbilt isn't bad. Jordan Matthews is a great receiver and this team had a lot of momentum coming into Neyland. Something we didn't have. It's not like it was the 05 Vandy team that went 5-6

Yeah but you can't miss a false start on a 4th and inches with under a minute to go. I mean I know it shouldn't have come to that besides they probably could've converted 4th and 6 anyways with the way the d was playing on that drive.

Who has honestly said that? I keep hearing about these "Fire Butch" threads, but don't see them...I mostly see an underwhelmed fan base showing their displeasure (For better or worse)

I really haven't seen anyone say fire Butch. We're disappointed with 4 straight embarrassing performances. Also, I didn't see Dooley or Kiffin calling plays tonight. Regardless of the problems we're facing because of the previous coaching staffs, when teams try to give you a game (Florida 4 turnovers), Vandy (4 turnovers), and you blow it, it's ridiculous to blame anyone besides this team and the coaches.

Just watched it, he didn't false start. He adjusts in his stance a little but it wasn't enough to be considered a false start.

There's plenty of comments blaming Butch. I would assume those same people would want to fire Butch?

I honestly can't stand to read them so I give them less attention.
