This is all so damn ugly. Not even a sport anymoreLooking at the NIL estimates for the top ranked players in the portal, it could take millions of dollars for us to get the talent we need to compete with the likes of Ohio State.
Do we have the resources?
I know it’s the holidays, but we haven’t heard of any new potential players since Moe signed.
The clock is ticking!
Because most of the 30m spent that $500 and several more amounts like it in the trip to Ohio!!!I mentioned this as a joke in another but it did get me to thinking. If we 30,000 people are willing to drive to Columbus, Ohio to watch a game. Why can’t we get 30,000 people to give $500 to the collective? That’s $15M.

If we are going to play the game, we have to compete. was always taught if you have a task to do, you do it the best you can. I(f you don't want to put in the effort, it is not worth doing. Do you want Tennessee to have a football team? I do and I want it to be the best.Better question is do we want to compete? Overpaying a bunch of high school kids just to win a championship seems silly at these prices.
I want to drive a nice car to but I will not play 4X MSRP, even if someone else pays for me.If we are going to play the game, we have to compete. was always taught if you have a task to do, you do it the best you can. The American dream is now sit on your arse, wait to be offended or disrespected by a corporation or rich person, and sue the hell out of them with some ambulance chaser before some liberal judge and never have to work a day in your life. The difference is I unfortunately have to work and employers must pay for my services. These kids do NOT have to play football!!!!!!The american dream is for people to pursue happiness and prosper, but we've got adults Mad at young adults making money doing what they love and refusing to watch sports because of it. just wait til you find out that all these corporate chains and industries you frequent abd give your hard earned money to are corrupt and shady AF
what a shame.
nobody knowsThe Alumni alone have access to big money but is it being allocated in the right areas.
for example, Sacramento State just had 12 donors raise 35M in 24 hours for its football program to move up .
It is absolutely destroying the game aspect of this whole thing. You now have 18-23 year old kids holding schools, coaches, and fans hostage. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY FOOTBALL. If you don’t like the arrangement, go get a job like everyone elseYes, I am. Oregon, OSU, and Texas seem fine with it as well. Essentially that's what it's coming to. Alabama's AD went to the media just a few weeks ago saying they need more money. Again, I don't think NIL is everything. But it's becoming a big part of it.
I do agree they need to go in the direction of contracts like the NFL. But paying players isn't going away. So, either you have to embrace it or move on to a new hobbyIt is absolutely destroying the game aspect of this whole thing. You now have 18-23 year old kids holding schools, coaches, and fans hostage. They may be fine with it ,but still doesn’t make it right. I have been a Tennessee fan my entire life, went to first football game in 1974. Since have watched or attended most every game (football, basketball, baseball, women’s basketball, softball. This modern day lust for money is disgusting. The chant will no longer be “were #1”. It should be “we spent the most money “Yes, I am. Oregon, OSU, and Texas seem fine with it as well. Essentially that's what it's coming to.
