Amazing how one bad result has made people completely lost in the sauce.Dude you are insane. Heupels seat is ice cold. And no he won’t be on the hot seat if he went 7-5 next year. Jesus just stop the idiocy.
The game is funny.Amazing how one bad result has made people completely lost in the sauce.
If we lose 34-20 not a single person talks about going 7-5 lol
I do disagree that his seat would be pretty warm going into 2026 after 7-5 with a 3rd year Nico. It just would.
But 7-5 ain't happening because we are elite. We just had the audacity to get our butts whipped in 20 degrees weather, at the most talented team in the country, with no healthy WR's, no Samp, redshirt freshman QB and freshman RB's.
Sacramento State has 18 portal transfers incoming. Most are 3 stars. Only 4 leaving. The Alumni alone have access to big money but is it being allocated in the right areas.
for example, Sacramento State just had 12 donors raise 35M in 24 hours for its football program to move up .
Based on my math I don’t think this even covers Nico’s number. We have a rabid fan base of tight wads. I know because I am one, but more fans need to at least give a little. 4,499 members is pathetic for this University.

Money being put to use.
I’m sure the good results at UGA and Arkansas or the Ugly wins where we failed to score in a half or get down by 14 against a lesser team in the first Quarter don’t factor in the thinking at all.Amazing how one bad result has made people completely lost in the sauce.

Gonna get a bunch of "we're not willing to pay" bsLooking at the NIL estimates for the top ranked players in the portal, it could take millions of dollars for us to get the talent we need to compete with the likes of Ohio State.
Do we have the resources?
I know it’s the holidays, but we haven’t heard of any new potential players since Moe signed.
The clock is ticking!
Definitely could have changed a little but I doubt it. We were outmatched on talent and they out coached us big time. They basically knew what plays we were running throughout the gameThe game is funny.
OSU caught some ridiculous passes in the first quarter. Missed nothing.
We almost get off the field on the first drive (face mask)
Reverse that….we get off the field and score quickly and it’s a different game.
In high school we beat a team 49-7 in the regular season and lost by 4 in the playoffs.
One game doesn’t tell you as much as Errbody likes to pretend
I’m sure most do appreciate the free education and perks. Naturally, though, they appreciate free education, perks, and cash even moreI loved college sports, especially college football. I go to an average of one game a year, I buy T merchandise. But there is no way I’m going to give $100 - $300 dollars just to buy a football team that does nothing for me other than a few hours of enjoyment 12 days a year. I’m old school and think a young man should appreciate getting a free education with many perks. Not making more money at 20 years old than some make their entire lives. My enthusiasm is declining more day by day. My beloved game is gone.

It isn't just one game, it was the crappy (unimaginative) offense from all year that was allergic to running short pass plays like slants, outs, etc.
It is the entire WR room going into the portal.
It is the lack of big pickups so far in transfers.
Etc. Signs are there that we are a struggling program unless something happens quick.
I know this is a pretty late response but what determines if we are “over paying” as a whole. Tennessee turned a 75 million dollar profit from the football program. If winning is considered to be a large factor in the profitability, would it not make sense to invest more in winning to maintain revenue?Better question is do we want to compete? Overpaying a bunch of high school kids just to win a championship seems silly at these prices.
That is pure capitalism which is usually correct, but when does common sense take hold? 16 SEC schools are going to spend 30 to 40 million on players NIL money on top of their already heavy 100 million dollar budgets so that 1 of them might win a championship? What about next year? How many commercials can we watch? How much extra expense can we afford. There is no answer as this is an endless auction. I don't think any of them are worth the money. We need a do over.I know this is a pretty late response but what determines if we are “over paying” as a whole. Tennessee turned a 75 million dollar profit from the football program.
