I can see taking a guy like Bill Self or Tom Izzo, but John Calipari? The shadiest guy in the game not named Tim Floyd?

I’m not the biggest Cal fan, VolDad you’re upset about Pearl not getting past the Elite 8 at Tennessee, would would you say if he had Orton, Bledsoe, Cousins, Wall, and Patterson at Tennessee and didn’t make it past the Elite 8?

I'd congradulate him on taking an NIT team (I think) and in his first year going 30-2 with an SEC regular season and SEC tournament title and then making the Elite 8.

I get what you are saying that people don't care about what happened 40 years ago, but(hopefully) a program's history is relevant to every fan is all I'm saying :good!: And yes, Bruce(along with Wayne, IMO) has been the face of UT basketball the past 4-5 years. Like it or not.

Give me Izzo, give me Coach K, but I don't think I would fire Pearl for Calipari. His shady dealings would just leave us with a few vacated season, as evidenced by what has happened to his former programs. Don't get me wrong, I think Calipari is one of the best coaches around and the dribble-drive offense is a thing of beauty when it's working well...but I wouldn't sacrifice hiring that sleazebag just to obtain a better record.

Where do you gather that? I am not upset. I am very happy and think that he did a great job this year. I am satisfied that he showed improvement this year. But to act like nobody else could accomplish the same or to act like he won a NC is silly.

This is absurd revisionist history. The initial thread I made about how great Pearl is referenced no other coaches at all. You brought up all manner of personal attacks on Pearl including very odd accounts of the restaurants and bars where you talked to waitresses about his drinking and dating
...

I enjoyed someone else pointing out that you mainly follow around another poster emulating them in this thread.. it makes sense if you think he might hire you, as long as you avoid arguing. When you argue you make posts like the one in my sig line and I think you may end up using your law degree to do something aside from advocate.
