Do you know what I find peculiar?

To be fair it sort of does. Other coaches hate Pearl making it even more difficult to recruit.

And yet pearl is recruiting at the highest level. Amazing

I don't think I've ever seen his divorce referenced in any context other than to ridicule those who act as if Pearl is some sort of faultless deity and all other coaches are immoral scum.

Or why not go to the other extreme and act like tennessee basketball has some great illustrious history, and that pearl has done nothing for it.

You actually believe that other coaches don’t tell kids “Even if you don’t come to (Insert School here) you should go to (Insert Second School here), not Tennessee.” Pearl has done a very good job of recruiting, but to say that doesn’t go on is delusional.

But Huggins DUI does?

No, it doesn't. And I have never brought that kind of crap into a coaching discussion. When I'm saying people should refrain from personal attacks, I'm talking about both sides, not just the people who attack Pearl.

Regardless of context, I don't see where it fits into the debate at all. Just my honest opinion.

I didnt say it doesnt go on. But obviously it isnt working so who cares??

I'm taking a break. This thread is running in circles. I don't understand why some people think Pearl>Tennessee, Pearl=Tennessee, or Pearl made Tennessee.

No coach is greater than the program. I'm glad we have him and are having success. But he's not the program, and the program did exist without him.

Dude, just hit the quote button.

Yet there are a lot of Coachs who manage to go past that, or have you not noticed that some teams continued to play every year after we stop.

And yet noone in the history of tennessee basketball has. Which is what we have been talking about.

You think Pearl has never lost a kid he wanted due to this?

Tennessee under Bruce Pearl is 26th in the 2000s. We've been higher before (16th in the '70s, etc...)

Pearl got here i9n 2005 buddy, nice try though

4 teams this year played after we were done. Remind me again of previous Tennessee coaches who have been able to get that far?

HAW HAW

Keep this one handy... hang on, I'll make it easy for you. Here, store this in microsoft word and copy/paste for future arguments or until Pearl wins a nat'l championship:

You're welcome

Here is to hoping that you can pull that out next year. :hi:

Not the point. The point is that pearl is recruiting at the highest level.

Certainly the program is bigger than any coach, but Bruce Pearl currently is the face of Tennessee basketball.

Why is it so hard to understand that those under 40 years old haven't seen much success at Tennessee on the basketball court? Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just that it's not relevant to many people.

Freak, you have been spot on in this thread. Well done.

Someone teach him how to use the quote button.

I know how to use it. I choose not to. Obviously you understood that I was quoting someone. Why do you care?

Sometimes I'd like to who said what you are quoting. If you'd rather take the time to copy/paste though, go ahead.

Did you run around telling everyone in '98 that Fulmer "was Tennessee football" and nothing ever happened here before his arrival?

Of course not... Tennessee football was rich in history and tradition. Tennessee basketball has certainly experienced periods of success but nothing like football.

Which posts are you referring to? I can certainly understand people arguing that Tennessee has accomplished more under Pearl than any previous era, but it's hard to imagine people stating that nothing ever happened.

How is his being a snitch for the 'AA his personal life?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

I don't think many care that Pearl was a snitch. No one takes the 'AA seriously anyway. The fact that a coach has two vacated Final Fours and is still coaching at a major program is laughable.

Apparently it does. We have quite the double standard on this site

It's a Tennessee site. Of course there is a double standard.
