What if Hart has tried and money was no option but candidates said no because _____________________. We don't have a clue what is happening and lets face it, when the new coach is announced, we will all back him.

Well since Guden said no according to all the Gudentrons Hart should be fired. Now if Strong says no despite an offer of almost a $1 million bump in pay per year along with a five year deal, it's all Hart's fault and he should be fired.....good grief where's the common sense

This is a total embarrassment yet I would call you crazy if you expected it to shake out any differently. Like someone said in an earlier thread: this feels eerily similar to our last coaching search. For those of you that don't remember, coach after coach turned us down. Just remember all those that said hart has been looking for months and already has his guy. Now we are reeling. Will be interesting to see how this one shakes out

if Strong cones out publicly and says no, Hart may have decided to pass on him for what he sees as a better hire and is allowing Strong time to "save face" before announcing the hire

Least all of the Hart Bashers forget....Hart didn't sign Kiffin or Dooley nor give all those large buyout contracts. The program was in flames when he walked thru the door.

It really is beginning to look like Hart didn't have a clue that he would fire Dooley until the Vandy fiasco and had made no contacts nor any backwater out reaches for coaches to replace him as per presser.

I have a feeling that Louisville promised Strong more money, and that there may be some back and forth over money. Is Gundy still a possibility or no?

Make no mistake about it, Arkansas has hired the best coach so far. Malzahn was a solid choice for Auburn with their NCAA issues hanging over them. With that said, Dave Hart is NOT going to tell fans why any candidate did not take the job. You can feel he owes you this or that but it will not happen. How could the man tell the fans/media how he tried to hire this guy or that guy and they all said no. So here is your new head coach. Tennessee has alot of things coaches want in a job. We also have alot of things coaches want no part of. Calling for Hart's job or head on a platter before a hire is even made is just stupidity. IF any of the rumors of money and what we were willing to spend this time is accurate, we will have a good football coach. IF those were just rumors and we go on the cheap as usual as the boosters talked a good game, but were nowhere to be found when it came time to write a check, then it is what it is. I think Dave Hart knows exactly what he is doing.

I agree. No explanation required. Can you image Hart telling a perspective coach That his hire may cost him his job, But come anyway.....OBTW I will have to tell them why you are a third tier choice And why The others turned us us down and we got stuck with you....

UT doesn't owe me anything. I supported UT with Derek freakin Dooley. I will support whoever they hire and hope for the best. The fanbase has been "divided" throughout and will always be. Some wanted Fulmer to stay, others didn't. Some supported Dooley, others didn't. Some like Gruden, others don't. If you can't get on board with whoever they hire, again, burn your orange and find another team to be fickle about.
