I'll ask you. Would we have been better off had we never formed a US government?
Would we be better off if we completely elliminated it now?
I think everyone would get along better in the old system. Today 50% the people hate the other 50% of the people. 400 years ago everyone mostly got along and 100% of the people hated the king.

I think that's something we can agree on @luthervol :)

Instead of playing your silly ass loaded question game I’ll say we would all be better off if the federal government remained small and largely out of states business as the founding fathers intended.

First one is impossible to answer. Would we be better off if we completely eliminated it? We would be much more free. However, I do feel some government is good. But our current government needs to be scaled WAY WAY WAY down.

If we eliminated it now, there are a plethora of states that would bankrupt. Most of the are a deep red

No, you're changing parameters. 7of 10 are MOST RELIANT for federal aid.
Is this not the top 5 that recieve aid??

  • California ($116.0 billion)
  • New York ($79.2 billion)
  • Texas ($68.2 billion)
  • Florida ($41.7 billion)
  • Pennsylvania ($41.0 billion)

Those are the top 5 most populous states, it stands to reason that they also receive the most in aid.

It's not uncommon to view what you do not comprehend as silly ass.

Then it would stand to reason those state would be the first to bankrupt if the government shut down that's my point ..federal aid seems more 50/50 then actual debt.

Let's look at what those 5 contribute to the federal coffers. You remove those 5 and most of the others fail.

It’s interesting that the business owners who have been productive for the economy are at odds with the guy who failed in business twice and lives off the government
Granted I live in Texas but I can’t say as I’ve seen any small business owner thank the government for anything in recent times. Not even the idiotic COVID relief. If the damn government hadn’t suicided the economy it wouldn’t have been needed

I doubt there are many VN posters who see willingness to compromise as a good thing.
What a weak argument. Compromise is outlined in the document which established how our government functions. And that same document has provisions for modification and compromise.

The extra constitutional, wasteful, and bureaucracy-bloating compromises SHOULD be never be considered a good thing.

Love 'em like a bad case of hemorrhoids or Texas.
I had a canker sore on the roof of my mouth one time the size of quarter. It hurt to breathe for an entire week. I enjoyed that week more than I enjoy watching the sh*t show that is our Govt at work.
