I already told you

None of those reports prove a state couldn't survive without our federal tax dollars. TN might receive more of our federal tax dollars per capita than say California but since TN is pretty much debt free I'd say we have a better than average chance of surviving than California.

That's an entirely different issue. More reliant as to staying afloat. You're dumbing down the context. Cool.

How so? In those reports they all take into account military spending, bases, payroll for the military stationed there ext along with entitlement programs. Taking all federal tax dollars away from the states would hurt all of them but I'd bet on the states with little to no debt surviving better than ones up to their eyeballs in debt.

I love how everyone always forgets that once seniors retire and start withdrawing money from Social Security they tend to navigate to a lower cost of living state. The argument always makes me laugh as it’s an individual retirement program and has nothing to do with the state other than looking for a desirable place with a lower cost of living. Yet they always count SS receipts from individuals as outflows from states and SS payments as inflow to states.

ALL states are on the dole from the Fed. Period.
