Dobbs has gotten FREAKIN HUGE

Can't believe I'm saying this but.....I haven't given up on Worley just yet. The only surprise to me would be Peterman getting the start. I'm ok with whatever the coaches decide.

I feel the same. It's too early to count any of the QBs out. I trust the coaches will make the right decision, I just hope that one of them emerges as a leader and so the coaches don't have to split hairs over who is better.

Ainge said that arm strength can only be increased slightly with weight training. U either have it or u don't. Example would be a cannon armed T.Bray as a freshman at 6'6" 180ish lbs.

I guess some of you don't recall his first pass against Bama that stopped Danielson in his tracks as he said "whoa!" as the ball came out and spiraled @ 55 yds in the air with ease.
Kid was overwhelmed trying to lead an overwhelmed team, which had limits at wr and no te, with a bum plant leg and hurt hand the last few games.

Man so much of this... He can throw, he just thought way too much on the field which hurt him. Can't wait to see his progress in the spring

what games were you guys watching. Dobbs has got a pretty strong arm, and is surely the favorite to win the job unless he has a bad spring. He is younger and more mobile than Worley, and has more experience than Ferguson. I'll be surprised if he's not the starter.

I went back and watched some of Dobbs' highlight videos from HS. It doesn't look like his arm strength is bad at all. You don't have to chuck it 50 yards a pop to be a successful QB. I just think he was put in a tough position last season with some brutal competition. I think it will be a good battle this spring between him and Riley, with Worley being the "safe" fall-back option.

That's pure insanity. He got the starting job by default last year, and he was terrible. He's not a front runner for anything, he's got a lot of self-redemption to accomplish before he's anywhere near the starting line-up. And no, the Kentucky game where he finally threw his first touchdown was not a redemption game.

Do you have any ability to gage potential? He single handedly put a score on the top team in the country, in their house, on national TV, in his first action as a lanky 18 year old kid. My money is on a Mensa, athletic, GA HS athlete of the year, to study and learn the SEC game and grow physically into a bad azz QB.

Umm..... who...... and when?

Break down this "single handed score" for me. I must have forgotten.

Unless you're talking about the field goal that Dobbs (Palardy) kicked against Bama....

Or the TD that Dobbs (Neal) ran in......

I think there's some confusion here.

Sorry you're confused. I'm talking about 60 yds. worth of completed passes (not to mention several drops) and his ability to run with some added long runs, that set Neal up for the score. It is a team game you know.

Weight training won't do much for arm strength

True, it will help though. Stronger core and legs allows the opportunity for better arm strength. Throwing technique and a throwing plan (like pitcher in baseball) helps the most.

Yup...... still confused.

Can we all just agree that Worley is the current front runner (as anyone with any logic would assume) and Dobbs is awful and move on?

Um No. Worley is awful and CP padded his HS numbers. Any HS QB throwing the ball within 10 yds of CP would be a legend in HS.

Some claim that Whirlybird Worley will be our captain. That could prove true.
Some insist the true heir apparent is Rifleman Riley.
That could prove true.
But I know the officer of our offense will be none other than the Dobb Goblin.

Worleys is alright, Fergies needs work, my inner geek enjoys Dobb Goblin though.

Lol. Dobb goblin has to rank somewhere up there in nicknames I've heard. If we can get the announcers calling him that it would be priceless.

Ok so I just want to get this straight......

Worley threw at least one TD pass on everyone he played against (with the exception of Bama when he was hurt) including Oregon, UGA, SC, and Florida.

Meanwhile.... Dobbs failed to throw a TD pass on everyone he played against with the exception of KY.

Yet Dobbs is who you want throwing the ball, and Worley is awful?

Is this what you're saying?

Worleys numbers are better than Dobbs. When a skinny undeveloped kid comes in and is close and exceeds Worleys passing efficiency and completion percentage still thinking about his last HS pep rally...Yeah, I like his potential.

We can agree to disagree. I hope whoever the starter is lights the SEC on fire. If it's Worley, I'm 100% behind him and likewise with Dobbs or Ferg.

I can agree with that. To explain my mentality, no one was more anti-Worley than me before the season started. I just didn't like him, I felt he was slow, made bad decisions, and had a jello arm. However, when he went in the Florida game, I honestly felt like he put us in a decent position to come back. He won me over in the Georgia game, and by SC, I was a legitimate fan.

On the other hand, I was really excited about Dobbs before the season started. I felt he was the best all around talent, and I went to the open practice and felt he looked the best. After the Mizzou game I honestly felt like he just wasn't a winner. Vandy solidified that theory for me.

I think our S and C coaches are doing a great job. This season we stayed reasonably healthy while other teams, especially after we played them, were banged up. I think we have more endurance, strength, and durability. Hopefully, that translates into less injuries even though some injuries can't be helped.
