Dobbs has gotten FREAKIN HUGE

We had three QBs, all of varying but little experience, all working under a new staff and system, all eventually playing through injury, and all who struggled mightily. We had a fourth that never saw the field due to injury. They were all highly rated recruits. I trust that they will all work hard to improve during the offseason-- physically, mentally and in knowledge of the system. I believe we will have several very good options at the position, and that the staff will recognize and start the best option. I will support whichever option that is, and remain excited about the possibilities. The bickering and attacks on our players is childish and really would be better if everyone just stopped.

Do Hellen Keller references count as attacks?

Justin Worley is so bad if he transfered to a D-IA school, he probably would get beat out.

Every quarterback in those playoffs were better than Worley.

With FCS quarterbacks you have to look at the competition. Worley was going against Oregon and SEC teams.

The receivers did no justice for Dobbs. I think both QBs will be greatly improved from last year, plus the entire offensive skill positions. My hope is that the fanbase doesn't cost games due to their certain agenda and just let the QB make some mistakes along the way.

How exactly does a fan base cost a team games? Ultimately it is the coaches who decide who is on the field not a bunch of idiots on a message board. Lol

The offense being keller had to do with North, not Worley. Manning also had a great year. Worley only completes 55% of his passes as a Junior.

Did you forget the other games he played in? We almost lost to South Alabama because he was so inaccurate.

Yes I remember. I also remember him continuing to improve as the year went on. That was at the first of the season with new receivers. He got better every game.

Almost sounds like a pledge.

I'll take it.

Wow, it does; didn't plan it that way. lol But I will too.

:good!:

I just re-read it too. It does read like a pledge. Nice work.

I base that on Dobbs being brutally bad in his starts in 2013 and Worley's edge in experience.

He wasn't brutally bad in his first start vs Mizzou.... was actually the best player UT had that night, by far. Played well in the 2nd half vs Bama, played poorly vs Auburn and Vandy, played very well vs Kentucky.

By comparison...

Worley played well vs APSU, ok vs WKY, very poorly vs S Alabama, poorly vs Oregon, good in 2nd half despite 2 ints vs Florida, well only in the 2nd halves vs Georgia and SCar and was absolutely dreadful in the first half vs Bama.... as a Junior, not a true freshman.

Well, according to some around here, Butch makes his QB decisions based on what the idiots want.

I agree with you that our coaching staff should be trusted to make the right decision, and that our responsibility as fans is to try supporting ALL of our players on and off the field. Two more things:

(1) I'm not particularly excited about our options at the QB position itself, but given all the new weapons at RB, WR and TE, it should be easy for any of our QBs to succeed. Barring injury, I think it'll be very hard to unseat the whoever gets the start against Utah State. For this reason, the Spring and training camp competition at QB will be VERY important for maximizing the potential of our 2014 offense.

(2) I don't know anything about Riley Ferguson's ability as a college quarterback, and I don't want anybody to interpret this statement as a criticism of him. That being said, the message board hype for a completely inexperienced teenager has gotten ridiculous. Expecting or assuming that Ferguson will save our program isn't fair to him, or to the other three guys who earned playing time ahead of him last year. Coach Jones says the competition remains wide open, so we fans should accept that and act accordingly until we're proven otherwise.

Just to add on to your point. Putting faith in a one of the qb's is fine, but to say that Dobbs is worthless is just wrong.
To start against bama, mizzou, and Auburn defenses(who were literally the three best teams in the conference) as a freshman is in itself a great accomplishment. Vandy was an off day for him (North getting injured didnt help either), and he showed that he can perform against kentucky.
I believe and will stand by the choice that CBJ makes. this years recruting class will also help give options to our QBs. Although I am concerned about how well our inexperienced O-line will hold up against the D's of SEC.

You must didn't watch the Oregon or Florida game this year? Or saw what was being said online and the local media?

If you refuse to accept facts, then just ignore me.

So, you are saying that it is a fact that Butch made a QB change because of being pressured by the fan base?

Huh? Are you serious? I don't think you're being serious.
