I wonder if you even realize you’re making the same argument over and over? I have never been a politician but I guarantee I could do a better job than most of the ones in D.C. The average GM has never played football and a lot of them make stupid decisions consistently. The GM of the Giants recently gave Daniel Jones $160 million. I bet you think he’s a genius and infallible just because he’s a GM?No, just you. In another thread, you were insinuating you knew more than Heupel and the AD, and now you know more than NFL GMs and OCs
I know 1 thing. The Steelers are about to roll out Mitch Trubustky next week. I guarantee they are asking, "hey why didn't we keep this Dobbs guy."
And don't even get me started on freaking Mason Rudolph. There is an argument for Dobbs even being better than Pickett.
They never even gave Dobbs a shot and did him a disservice in doing so. Everyone just wrote him off.
Imagine Dobbs playing for a team like San Fran or Dallas. He would literally be unstoppable.
@Dobbs 4 Heisman drop your cash app I'll buy you a beer.
No, I don't think they're infallible, but they see so much more than we do. I'm a die hard Giants' fan. I hated him getting that contract, BUT the owner told him to lock Jones up after his great play at the end of last season. That being said, you are all over the place conflating this specific case in Dobbs. I would much prefer Dobbs to get with one of the better teams, with one of the best QBs, to be the permanent backup and a nice insurance policy for the team should the starter go down with injury. Floating around on bad teams isn't going to get him a championship. If the Bengals had Dobbs, Burrow would be healing right now instead of having to play hurtI wonder if you even realize you’re making the same argument over and over? True, and he looks like he's getting more comfortable and confident each game. The NFL season is a marathon. At this point in the season, he's at least opened a few more eyes around the league. Think Andy Reid wouldn't want to have him as a permanent backup to Mahommes??? Hell he beat Dallas in Dallas right in front of Jerry. I would love to see him get a ring. Going to a perennial contender as a backup would give him a chance, plus even the better QBs get hurt. So it's likely he would get some meaningful PT tooProbably as much in play is the fact he has never gotten an opportunity to settle in as the starting QB. With the Cardinals, he has that.
Actually he beat Dallas in Arizona. Just sayin. They've played (D) a lot better at home so far.True, and he looks like he's getting more comfortable and confident each game. I thought of an even better example: Zach Wilson. Dobbs is a decidedly better QB, not in potential but actual skill, right now, this minute, than Wilson. He's also as good or better than the other starters I listed in a previous e-mail. I doubt Dobbs prefers being a career backup to having a chance to be the guy. Being one of the top three QBs in the league is not his only path to a SB win as the starter - lots of journeymen QBs have won a SB. Dilfer is the most famous, but Johnson with the Bucs is another great example. Rich Gannon for years was just a backup, but he kept getting better, and ended up making four Pro Bowls and playing in a SB. He was playing at a very high level his last few years. But he was drafted by a team that wanted to convert him to RB.No, I don't think they're infallible, but they see so much more than we do. I'm a die hard Giants' fan. Wilson got himself some time with his play this week. I get the fact you're a reactionary deluxe, but the Jets were never going to bring in Dobbs. He was already traded to the Cardinals. I also get you have no idea how the NFL works, as to salaries, salary cap, etc.....You mentioning Dilfer as a journeyman. Gannon was an actual journeyman with arm talent, but comparable to Dobbs, in situation. That's why I say I hope Dobbs goes to a loaded team. The Raiders were loaded when Gannon took over. That you think Dobbs could possibly be a top 3 QB in the league is deluded, unless of course, he miraculously develops top shelf arm talent and accuracyI thought of an even better example: Zach Wilson. Maybe you should work on basic reading comprehension. I did not say Dobbs was top three - I said he didn’t have to be to win a Super Bowl.Wilson got himself some time with his play this week. Edit: How many teams did Dilfer play for before the Ravens? And yes, I agree he was mediocre by NFL standards
Ok. Call me dumb. There you go again making ignorant assumptions about me personally. Cool. I've likely read more books than you in the last ten years than you have in your entire life. Sorry, I digressed to your ignorant, personal attacks. You actually don't know enough about the subject at hand to offer intelligent debate. How many teams has Dobbs played for in the NFL? He's had some starts too, around the league. BTW, you boasted about your professional cross-functional career, as if it gave you expertise to football organizations. You're delusional with your petty, immature insults towards me. I love Dobbs. I just have a more realistic, informed and educated perspective about than you. SorryMaybe you should work on basic reading comprehension. I did not say Dobbs was top three - I said he didn’t have to be to win a Super Bowl.
I also did not say that the Jets should go after him - I named their QB as another example of how dumb your premise that he’s not starter material is.
Grow up. Read a book and learn to think. Welcome to the list.
In your world, you would claim Baker Mayfield is better than Brady because his record through 4 games, as a first time starting QB in Tampa Bay, is better than Brady's was in his first 4 games in Tampa. That's how you rollMaybe you should work on basic reading comprehension. I did not say Dobbs was top three - I said he didn’t have to be to win a Super Bowl.

So you’re saying if Dobbs keeps playing well then Arizona should keep him as their starter? Yesterday you said Dobbs wasn’t better than even 25% of NFL QBs? Why would Arizona commit to keeping a QB who’s in the bottom 25% at his position? Your posts are inconsistent at best.I apologize. Wasn't really meaning to be a negator. Arizona could finally be his landing spot if he continues to play well and keep them competitive. Please read my thread on the win vs the Cowboys
Your premise appears to be “getting paid backup money on a good team with a chance to win a superbowl” is better than “getting paid starting money on a weaker team”? Personally, I’d take the starter level pay with an opportunity to play each week over taking less pay to watch from the bench unless someone gets hurt. I would think most competitive athletes would feel the same.True, and he looks like he's getting more comfortable and confident each game. The NFL season is a marathon.
