To continue down a the wrong path is is the definition of head stuck in the sand.
Smart guy would see it as an opportunity that they may have a diamond in a rough.
Honestly if Josh plays well next week. I'd send Tannehill and a few others on their way. Dobbs they can sign Dobbs for chump change, let Malik grow if they choose.
This team is in need of a rebuild Dobbs can be that stop gap.
Or maybe the titans screwed up trading up to pick such a project QB when they had other pressing positions to fill.Okay, now welcome to the real world. They invested a high draft pick and serious developmental time into a very raw kid they see as the future QB. He's played one game, when he was probably not expected to play at all this season.
Dobbs has been in the league for 4-5 years, and is a known quantity - if he was a 'diamond in the rough' the NFL would have revealed that by this time. He is clearly seen as a good kid who can provide depth in the QB room, not as a guy you build around.
I love Josh Dobbs, he is an all time VFL and I've rooted for him from day one in the NFL. But he wasn't brought to Nashville to be anything more than a body taking bullets in a 'garbage time' game that was obviously meaningless, otherwise the Titans wouldn't have sat half the offense. Take off your orange tinted glasses and understand that this is the NFL, where a Kurt Warner type out of nowhere story happens once in a blue moon.
Well, whatever the case is JD needs to finish this season out, unless he for some odd reason stinks it up next week, which I HIGHLY doubt.I don't know, sure seems that way after his on field interview last night, he didn't look too happy and he sure didn't look it in the posted video press conference

I'll just stand by my dream world of getting rid of Tannehill and others and start rebuilding this team, Josh can be had cheap and can mange the game, Malik can still get developed if that's possible if not 24, grab a better QB in the draft or depending on the moves made this offseason pick up a higher tier QB, Dobbs is serviceable as back up and if Malik hasn't improved he's cut.
Heck there was a rumor of bringing Carr in, why in the world would you do that. Quite honestly depending on what's done over the next weeks/months. If I decide to go full rebuild, I'm not sure I wouldn't put Henry out there to see what I can get while he's still healthy
Not saying I disagree with what you’re saying completely, but some guys are gamers. May look ho-hum in practice, but put them in a game and they make things happen. Dobbs got his first shot last night with a bunch of scrubs playing with him. And he didn’t look bad at all, made some nice throws.Agree totally on Carr, that's just exacerbating the issue of mediocre QB play. The Titans have wanted to move on from Tannehill for the last 2-3 seasons, but he has in their mind been the least bad option when looking at FA's and draft picks. Drafting Willis was clearly the plan for 2023-24, depending on his progress, while riding with Tannehill for one more season.
Dobbs is not an option, in any way. Like I said, he's been with three teams and is not some sort of mystery - if there was something there, NFL coaches would have found it already. He is what he is, a guy to provide depth, the kind of kid you might want in the QB room, but not as an option to build a team around.
I'll say this - if Willis starts and stinks it up for a few possessions, then it's on Vrabel to go with whoever will give him the best shot to win a game that is for the division. Hell, I hope Dobbs gets that shot and runs with it.

We can hope. Yes he isn’t a top nfl QB. But he may be just what the titans need. But you’re probably right. Not a long term answer to their Q B issue.Okay, now welcome to the real world. And hopefully a game without 150 yards in penalties versus 20 for the other five (forgive me if my numbers are off that was just the last update they gave us during the game and I’m not Googling it).Now we get to see what last week could have been with the starters in.
With our starters in, he has a chance to shock people. Henry next to him will give us a Manning Era play action. Hell, Dallas was biting HARD on it and Henry didn't even dress. This could get fun to watch. Then again, it could be just as bad as the last 5 weeks have been. And hopefully a game without 150 yards in penalties versus 20 for the other five (forgive me if my numbers are off that was just the last update they gave us during the game and I’m not Googling it).
I think Dobbs might show out! He might never be a franchise QB but that doesn’t mean he can’t put on a show and be a name people won’t forget! #letdobbscook
Geno Smiths season gives hope to guys like Dobbs and Malik TBH. Geno has been written off for so long then he comes and drops a Pro Bowl year. The guy languished around for 9 years and finally got his chance. It proves that sticking it out can pay off.I love Dobbs, but the league clearly knows he's a gamer and an exceptionally bright kid. If he was in his second season I'd agree more with your point, but he had three years with an excellent staff in Pittsburgh and he never got beyond being the third QB. Dobbs isn't going to sneak up on anyone, he's been in the league 4-5 years, they know what he is. Listen, I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong.
