Not really. Simpletons, a group for which the former President would be a poster child, aren't hard to convince. Hell, Tennesseans have elected Lamar Alexander to statewide office multiple times. That's presumptive evidence that convincing at least a majority of idiots to do something really stupid isn't hard at all.Amazing how someone that does not care for an entire race can so easily be persuaded to help them.
You want to look at the post directly above yours. See how much of "a pass" I give Kooky Kathy and Willie Wonka. There is a difference between hating a group of people and incompetence. Incompetence by the way that was also shown by the Mayor and Governor (but they were Democrats so they get a pass).
for that matter, our nation of idiots has recently elected what appears to be the worst president (or least American) of my lifetime and he isn't a poster child to the average fella'.Not really. No, they hate competence. Get your hatreds straight.
You missed the point, which isn't surprising. It's easy to convince dumb people to do things. Thus, getting Bush to act in a manner contrary to his racism wouldn't be hard. For example, getting the voters of Tennessee to elect a guy who was an atrocious governor, a disgraceful university president, and a joke of a Secretary of Education to the Senate hasn't been difficult at all.So people voting for Alexander, do not like him. Amazing, such insight. They hate him, yet were convinced to vote for him in large enough numbers for him to win.
I don't deal in hypothetical "democrats" or "republicans." I deal with the individuals actually involved. I stand by my assertions about Bush, Blanco, and Nagin.
1. Define "significant." I think one yahoo in a position of influence is too many. I have no problem saying that there is no real difference between, for example, Trent Lott and the Grand Wizard of the KKK.Hat, do believe a significant number of republicans in power are racist or prejudiced? If so do you they outnumber those in the democrat party that hold the same beliefs by any significant amount?

No, his love for black liquid outweighs his disdain for Muslims. That one's not hard to figure. Also, let's not forget: "He tried to kill my daddy!!!"Did not miss the point, the point was not valid to your assertion. We are not talking about a situation he has apathy towards, he does not like black people according to you. That is an agenda, a proactive stance. Much different that convincing some uninformed apathetic voter.
Plus, why could they not convince him to get out of Iraq. There was a line of Hollywooders beating him over that. He must really really really dislike brown people, huh? Much worse than black people.

2. There are more bigots in the GOP. The major affliction in the Democratic party is regional and intellectual prejudice.
