Anonymous sources? Blasphemy!
There are many holes in that defense. Sidney Powell's attorneys are saying that she was just giving her opinions, but during her press conferences and appearances on Fox News, she was clearly presenting allegations of election fraud as facts which she would be able to establish with evidence. Also, the argument that it was up to the courts to decide if her allegations were factual, is fundamentally dishonest because she never made the most serious allegation (that Dominion voting systems changed votes from Trump to Biden) when given the chance to in court. How were the courts going to decide something which was never alleged?

It's a defense that the National Enquirer has used in the past when they have been sued for defamation or libel. It's the "nobody takes me seriously" defense. It seems strange for an accomplished lawyer to be resorting to that.her defense was to make the Plaintiffs case for them. Trump only hired the best and brightest. LOL
Based on her outrageous claims and her presenting zero evidence to substantiate them..... coupled with her most recent claims... I think she might be crazyThat is an extraordinary admission. She is making two significant statements with this legal strategy of hers, and they both call her integrity into question:
1) It confirms what we have speculated about since November. Sidney Powell would make claims of election fraud on Fox News and during press conferences that she wouldn't make in court. That is because she knew they weren't true, and she didn't want to risk her license to practice law over those false claims.
2) Sidney Powell is also admitting that she took Trump supporters and Fox News for a ride, and that is probably because she doesn't respect their intellect. She knows that most Trump supporters do believe those claims (look at the posts to this forum). Basically, she doesn't consider the majority of Trump's supporters to be "reasonable". She thinks they will believe anything which advances Trump's agenda, and so she told them what they wanted to hear. It bought her a lot of air time on the Fox News prime time opinion shows, and she enjoyed the attention. That is what this all boils down to.
Right-wing cable outlet Newsmax settled a defamation suit brought by a Dominion Voting Systems executive Friday with an apology and admitted that allegations of voter fraud that it aired were untrue, the latest backtracking as Newsmax and other conservative outfits face legal retribution for amplifying former President Donald Trump’s baseless vote-rigging claims.
