I'm a full believer in Worley but I have to say that Worley can run better than Manning is because Manning didn't have to run.

Hard to let a senior develop.. Starting a freshman might be slightly worse THIS SEASON, but will help us for the next three seasons by giving him experience.

But I still think we should go with whoever gives us the best chance to win this season.. which is probably Worley. Tough decision to make, though.

He isn't a senior

Wishing Worely much luck. I like the new guys, and NP had some good scrambling ability in the pocket during the O&W game.

Worley needs to talk to Crompton (no joke). Crompton was also highly recruited and stayed 2nd string for nearly his entire career at UT. After all that he went through, Crompton still bears the torch for UT.

This is Worley's time to shine.

Didn't look bad considering he was a true frosh against stout defenses. Should have beaten usc.

With no run game to help and only one WR playing like they belonged in the SEC. I like Worley in all the respects I did not like Bray. Seems like a good leader with a level head. Stays out of trouble. Works hard all the time.

He doesn't have Bray's arm though.

But but but when he did play he looked horrible. And he's a Dooley recruit, and coached by him for way to long to have any chance to be any good. Just sayin...

Wow, let's give him a chance before giving up on him. So, if we use your logic, all Sophomores and above will NOT be worth a damn because they were recruited and coached by Dooley. Unbelievable. :loco:

Neither did Weurffel or Barkley (or 99% of all others)

I'm looking forward to seeing what Worley, along with the rest of the team can do under a solid coaching staff where everyone is pulling in the same direction. We have been sorely lacking in this area for a few years now. IMO, you will see a noticable difference this fall. How many wins will that translate into this year? I don't have a freaking clue and neither does anyone else.

I've pulled for Worley ever since he stepped on campus. However I have a feeling he will not end up being "the guy." He's not really done anything wrong per say but ever since I've been watching UT football, when the right QB comes along they have always passed a certain eye test and it's always been fairly immediate when I see them. Peyton had this, Clausen had this, Ainge had this, Bray even had it. I remember the first time Bray stepped on the field, I knew he was the guy! I've seen enough of Worely to believe that he will not be the QB to get us to where we want to be. He will be a serviceable back up but that is all. Either Dobbs or Ferguson will end up being our guy I think.

That was sarcasm on Oskie Volum's part.

I think the two years under Jim Chaney are a major plus for this youngster. Personally I don't think this dude will put up huge numbers all the time. He might be a 16/24 220yd 2/1 TD/int type of guy. But I think he's got a competitive drive and a winners mentality. I think people would view him much different had DaRick caught that pass against SC.

I also catch myself thinking back to his televised HS game against Clowney's team. His team getting thrashed at halftime, Clowney this Clowney that. Worley comes out the second half and goes off pulling off the comeback. On one play shaking a sure Clowney sack, stepping up and throwing a dart for a long touchdown. The Clowney show got completely bombed out by Worley. I know it was HS, but the potential was there. If they can coach him up he can be a good QB.

I trust our coaches to make the right decision. With that said, my gut (which admittedly may be wrong), says Worley is not the guy. He's played in games that mattered, and simply he did not pass the eye test for me. Great kid, but no touch, stares down receivers, and hangs on to the ball too long. I think we are looking at Matt Simms 2.0. Also, his two state schools past up on his recruitment which tells me a lot.

Additionally, I don't get the "just give him a chance" argument. They ALL should get a chance, and the best one should play. If that does end up being Worley, I will be the first to cheer him on. I think our coaches will make the right choice for our team.

Again, JMHO. Those who disagree make some good points too.

Did you see the televised game where they had a Juggs gun on the field measuring the QB's ball speed? Bray was clocking 55 mph, and Worley 52. The announcer said that NFL QB's averaged a low 50's. I see no reason that the announcer would lie. What would be in it for him?

If we put this in perspective, Brett Favre clocked in around 70. How about distance?

Matt Simms 2.0? Ouch!
