Dooley says he is not being fired...

The real world how can anyone feel sorry for DD. If you screw up at your job do you get 5 mil to walk away.Look at next years commitments mostly 3 stars if you think you can compete in the SEC doing this it is a sad day to call you a Vol fan.We have shown little ability to coach kids up. When people are packing there rosters like we used to then you can lock horns with anybody and not struggle with the likes of Troy and Akron

It's still a pressure filled job. While I don't feel "sorry" for him, there's a good chance this will be his last major head coaching job. He's a young guy so there's obviously a lot of coaching time left, but I think he took a lot of money and a huge risk and he's going to leave here with the solidified reputation of "Good guy, but not a very good head coach". That reputation will be very hard to shake, and at best he's probably never going to get above another mid major HC job.

good info. I sure hope Smart isn't our next coach. I for one have had enough Bammer assistant coaching taking positions on our coaching staff.

Ah yes, good for you..but for the wrong reasons though..As some have said, our head coach apparently didnt have enough D1 head coaching experience,so let's hire one who has even less

Dooley could still win the next three games and get another year with a different DC. That could definitely happen but after the Vandy game I'm sure that will be history.

If Hart is waiting to see if UT goes 7-6 before making a decision, tht means he would have to wait until after the bowl game, which woukd mean no decision would be made until around Christmas or after, which would put UT at least a month behind several other schools - in the SEC alone - in the search/competiiton for a HC. I don't believe Hart is doing this, but if he is then that would mean that the rumor that some boosters are going to pay off the buyout of the staff is false, and the school cannot afford the buyout + pay the money to get a big name coach, so Hart is willing to give Dooley another season and hoping he can get to 7-6 so Hart can retain him and let Dooley get another DC.

if Dooley gets 1 more year!!

No sign he is leaving, no sign he is staying!!

So at this moment...Derek Dooley is our coach in 2013 and I would like to hear your perspective if the scenario plays out!!

If this happens, heads will roll the next yr. UT will lose soo much money its insane. I like Dooley but its pretty obvious that he can't coach. There has to be a change and if there's not then hart needs to be let go.

With the way our recruiting is going it would be a total disaster to keep Dooley. If he got fired in 2013. The 2014 coach would have a depleted freshman class, a senior QB who would be learning a whole new offense, a totally new d-line, and a unproven o-line.

If this occurs then what the Mayans have predicted will come true...

It all makes sense now - Historians have been baffled by the 'DD' markings the Mayans carved into rocks thinking it meant death & destruction

Dooley will be out on a December recruiting trip, visting a Rivals rated 2 star, and then..... BOOM!!! .... Total world combustion

Pray he leaves before then !!!

We will be doing the same thing next year, we would get fired up before the season start and then when the DUCKS mop the floor with us start waiting on BB season to start, now I know how kentucky feels.
