Given how LSU played that day and how depleted UNC was, we should've won 8 games. I wouldn't have said that either at the beginning of the season, but we got breaks with how bad Ole Miss and UK ended up playing down the stretch.

You go coach them 25 schollies down, DEs for DTs, special teamer's as depth, Walk-ons for DTs, a few good upperclassmen, and Freshmen. How would you do? Maybe we could have hired CUM. Oh thats right they won a couple more games than we did with a full roster loaded with top 5 class talent.

You people kill me.

The one thing that I see with this team, and I can honestly say that it is something that I did not see last year or the year before is this..... these guys got better EVERY week. You could see an improvement somewhere, of somekind. This did not happen under Kiffin, and Fulmer's teams seem to get worse as the year went on, especially the last couple years before he "retired". I think this guy is a better coach than either one of those guys. Is he the recruiter that Kiffin was? I don't think so but I don't see us getting any NCAA sanctions under Dooley either... and I think it would have been merely a matter of time under Kiffin. Yeah this loss sucks, but with how this team performed with a patchwork D line, true freshmen starting because they HAD to due to the 63 scholarship players on the roster, I am proud of them and this coaching staff.

Dooley might fall flat on his face and be the biggest bust ever, but I doubt it. The way he kept this team together and fought all year I think he did one hell of a job. Now let the guy recruit his players into his system and get the team back to full strength before you pass judgement.

well I started this thread two years ago, and this afternoon has cemented my initial feelings
after 26 straight years Dooley loses to Kentucky who had a WR playing QB
It's inexcusable that Hamilton was allowed to hire him and let Tennessee sink to these depths.

Sounds like you are upset over the loss, it was bound to happen at some point and time. Now our Fans who have never seen TN to lose KY can start showing a little respect.

There was plenty of blame to go around but we win as a team and lose as a team. You can kick, scream and whine all you want but DD will be the coach next year and possibly the year after depending on how we do next year.

Start all the threads you want on fire Dooley but it's not going to have any effect and you will just come away even madder. And for the record I am neutral on DD, I just realize the condition of the program and don't get wrapped up in the Dooley Aid, Sunshine pumpers, Nega Vols or the fire Dooley crusade

If you think Hamilton acted alone on this hire, you have no clue as to how it works around here with the Donors. DD was not hired here for his coaching ability as much as he was to clean up the mess from Kiffin and Fulmer and to show the NCAA we intend to abide by the rules. Like it or not that it is how it is.

I haven't started a thread about Fire Dooley or even said the word fire Dooley...I realize he will still be nere next year, but it doesn't changed the fact that he's not capable of winning...

I hope these people calling for Dooley's head aren't the same idiots who defended Fulmer after he went 5 and 7....... With the preseason 2nd ranked team with a schedule which was a whole whole whole lot easier than playing 6 top 25 teams.. This has been a train wreck of a year but it wasn't exactly set up for us to go out and be ranked.. If this type of play continues the next two years I will most definitely be uptight and out of sight.. But, until the cupboard is at least somewhat full I say a coaching change would just make this circus rotate around one more time and it would only get worse.. plus what kind of coach would want to come to a place where even when the talent level is low and you play 7 teams that were ranked when you played them or afterward, the fans give you 2 years to win.. If I was a big name coach I wouldn't want to go to a place where your not even given a chance to succeed.. Heck Saban lost to Louisiana techthey didn't fire him.. Yes, Kentucky sucks.. But.. We suck at the moment too. we got a good class last year but you can't expect 20 freshmen to come in a just start whooping teams that are loaded with experienced talent.. Like I say losing to Ky is unacceptable but if you thought that as young as we were that we could match step for step the big dogs of the league then it was just simply not going to happen.. Go Vols!

Why do the sheep have so much optimism with this time-tested losing machine we call Derek Dooley?

He's always been a loser and continues to be such...

What data is there to point to that says 'just give him time'?

I mean I didn't expect to go to the BCS in year 1 or 2, but I don't think a winning record at least one, if not both seasons was too much to expect.

0-24 when tied or trailing at the half...What makes you think he can rally his team to beat Bama or LSU at the half down the line in his career when he can't lead a rally past UK with a WR playing QB running the same play the entire game?

The only reason this Karmic Disaster Derek Dooley even has a punchers chance next season is the fact he has the best QB we've had since Peyton...And just like Peyton, Bray could/prob will go #1 in the NFL draft....However, last Saturday's catastrophe makes me think even with a full compliment of upper classmen starters and more quality skill guys on Offense than we've had since fill in the blank Dooley still won't get it done next year.

Why would he? History shows he never has....

Besides the fact this guy is a proven loser at multiple coaching stops, lets look at the karmic disaster this idiot has proven to be....

Year 1: two most improbable losses within the same season I've ever seen...leading to a NCAA rule change and a losing season.

Year 2: Losing the best QB-WR combo we've had in a long while @ UT within a matter of weeks....

However, only a guy like Dooley could upstage his own early season bad luck with what he accomplished last Saturday in Lexington.... a WR who hadn't played QB in 4 years since high school beats us by running one play the entire game.

Whats Dooley got up his sleeve for year 3, Peyton standing on Alabama's sideline wearing a Crimson shirt?

I mean if you were hiring a limo driver, would you hire a driver who was known for always having the worst luck and getting into horrible traffic accidents...Even if the majority of the accidents wasn't the drivers fault would you want to always have him driving you around?

Derek Dooley is our limo driver and he has a bad habit of having the worst events possible occur to him when he's behind the wheel...

Why would you want this kind of guy to lead our VOLS, he has never won anywhere and has worse luck than any coach I've ever seen...Get this mf'er as far away from our program as possible.

I believe it was Napoleon who said, "Bring me the lucky generals".
