Dooley sucks (merged)

Actually Alabama was just as bad or worse when NS got there as we were DD first year. They had NCAA problems, 4 coaches in 7 years and no one drafted that year. Difference is NS brought in a couple top 3 classes and upped the talent level. His second year all the impact players were fr, sph, and JuCos he brought in besides Javier Arenas and Andre Smith.

Actually it was nowhere near the same. Alabama had a returning experienced QB, OL, and DL along with talented WR and talent at the skill positions but they didn't have much depth.

Dooley had no QB, no OL, no DL, no LB's, no RB's and limited WR's plus no depth.

But if we are to take what you are saying that Bama was at UT's level, then what does that say about how bad Fulmer failed in the 2007 Bama game when out of all that, they had to suspend 5 starters the morning of the game and still beat us by 4 TD's?

I couldn't get on due to work circumstances for most of the day today

but 17-20 is his record, and Hambone is hiring him at UT

what a letdown

I love the Vols, and I'm sick to my stomach right now

Took 2 years and 10 months, but this experience is over...
With Tennessee having it's worst 3 year stint in a 100 years
Blew the streak against Ky
Vandy first win in 30 years in Nashville

and that's just in the last 12 months of a 3 year stint

See ya Dooley...Hope you and Clawful can coach together

Dooley in what world was he a rising star Pee Wee football top 5 all time worse coach in college fooball. Great speaker but that won't win games. Coaching. Coaching Coaching. He has little if any of Vinces skills

In what world was Dooley a rising star, Pee Wee football? He is one of the top 5 all time worst coaches in college fooball. He is a great speaker but that won't win him any ballgames. Coaching, it is very important in the SEC. Indeed, coaching is important at any level. And as far as coaching goes, it appears he has little if any of Vince's coaching skills.
Close enough. :salute:

Dooley you arent a very good coach, but I know you try. Regardless of you destroying the program here at Tennessee, I hope you and your family have a good thanksgiving. I can think of 5 million reasons you should be thankful

In reality it's 11M dollars when you include his 3 years at 2MM each

My father and law thought Dooley should have been fired after the UK game last year...and HE'S A UK FAN! When a UK fan says something like that, you know it was bad, considering their standards for football.

Merge if necessary, Mods, but there is no getting around it: Derek Dooley is a Tennessee Legend.

It's for all the wrong reasons, but the man got his big time coaching experience OJT on our dime to the tune of $11M USD. He compared us to the Nazi army; he said the team couldn't wash without him; he said the players never executed what he had in his head.

Some want to "move on", but get real. He is part of Tennessee's folklore now.

For the next generation, whenever the Vols screw-up (and they will), people should and will say, "Did Dooley call that?... Did someone let Dooley back in Neyland??"

He is the worst coach in our history. We let Mike "Hambone" Hamilton fire Phil Fulmer before the end of the season (and I say again, Phil would have been 7 - 6 at the end of 2008, with quality continuity for Crompdaddy without Hambone), and choose the successor to our HoF coach who brought us the Decade of Dominance, and who had rekindled his fire in 2008 as his Top 5 recruiting class demonstrated, complete with a better college QB than Tyler Bray, which is saying a lot.

Dooley's a big boy. And Vol fans have the right to slam and rag on him until folks from Memphis to Bristol forget how KY beat us with a WR at QB or how Vandy absolutely humiliated us.
