Doug Gottlieb

This team just like last year's and like others coached by your hero are extremely inconsistent.

So compare all you want. Won't mean a damn. You can't compare this team from day to day.

But you can use your BL all you want. I'd feel much better going into this tourney with TS on the team.

Interesting point.

Saint - how should we feel about CBP for recruiting those three guys to be on this team that you feel should leave? And what anout Crews and Ramar? I'm going to just assume they should be gone too in your book. 5 guys he recruited gone in 4 years. What should we make of that?

Please.

Bruce just lost the raffle when it came to recruits.

Definitely the most valid criticism of Pearl. Can't argue here.

Considering almost half of his roster has been turned over because of off the court issues I would think that would lead a noble moralist like yourself to say something needs to be done about it.

Something was done about it. IT makes me wonder why Lofton still wants TSmith on this team. You cant have your cake and eat it too.

So Pearl himself gets a free pass because half of his team has been kicked off the team because of off the court issues?b

He has no responsibility or accountability whatsoever?

Should Pearl have tried to recruit some more "character" guys? Yes. At the same time, he was trying to get the best talent to Tennessee that was possible at that time.

So Pearl has no accountability to the university for recruiting such a high percentage of questionable-character athletes?

Yes, he does.

Which is why he kicked the players off the team, and had to play with 6 schollys at one point. That was his punishment. I hope he has learned. I don't know what you want me to say? I already told you it was a valid criticism....

I love it......

I really wish I could get a read if you were a 16 year old who didn't have a clue, a 20 year old trying to cause trouble, or a 30 year old that has problems and I should feel sorry for.

Too bad you don't sing the same tune with CLK.
Where didn't I? Kiffin's off the field record was far better than the imbecile he replaced. By your lax standards, Kiffin was a model disciplinarian. He got rid of Edwards and Richardson after one incident, instead of spending two years "warning" guys to cut out their trips to Magnolia and Cherry, i.e, Crews and Ramar, before doing anything.

Hat, you've seen them in person. Do we have more than a 25% chance of getting past the Hoyas?

Then why does he get praised by some for "doing his best coaching job ever given the circumstances", when he is part of the reason said circumstances happened.

Good question.

I certainly do not give Bruce a complete pass for the actions of his players off the court. At the same time, I realize grown men need to stand up and take responsibility for their own actions. Which Tyler Smith did do, which was actually impressive.

Doug Gottlieb's brother, Greg, was an assistant under Fisher at SDSU through the 2006-07 season, he's got a little more inside info on the team.

Here's the rub for the Aztecs, all you Vol fans: they are very thin at point guard. In fact, they really don't have a true point on the roster. DJ Gay is a great little player, but he's not a true point guard. Neither is Kelvin Davis. Chase Tapley could be a decent backup point, but he's really more of a shooter AND he's got a broken off-hand right now. Pearl, if he has a brain, will hound DJ Gay all over the court all game, since the Aztecs have no real backup to bring in when Gay gets tired. He's been playing 40 minutes a game of late, and that won't change come tourney time. If the Vols beat us, it will be because they completely shut down the SDSU backcourt.

Our frontcourt, hate to tell youm, is very athletic and good. Freshman Kawhi Leonard is a beast, rebounds like Rodman in his prime. But is is a frosh, so you never know. Malcolm Thomas and Billy White are long as hell, run and jump out of the building, and are usually tough matchups. We shall see.

Yes, because Georgetown is as wildly erratic as UT. If both teams play at their best, the Hoyas win. However, prior performance indicates at least one of the two teams will stink the place up.

To gottliebs credit, he called us garbage awhile ago.

I grew up watching him when he was in high school. Great passer, was supposedly a huge dick though.

FYI same high school as Deshaun foster, Shawn green (baseball) mark grace, Chris Chester, frostee rucker and a few other NFL guys.

If Greg Monroe decides, "You know what? I'm taking over this game and dominating," UT will have no chance.
