Doug's NCAAF Betting Conquest

It's strange. Kentucky and Miss State have the two higher scoring offenses there. I think the MSU/Bama bet is easy money, but ya never know.

Looks like you are going to be right in the MSU/Bama game. 24-10 at the half. Who would have ever believed though that MSU would put up 24 in a HALF against Alabama?

Clemson is almost a 20 point favorite over Maryland?!

...and they're trailing 10-6 in the middle of the 3rd qtr.

I wouldn't bet on any game involving Clemson EVER. You never know which team is getting off the bus.

MSU's offense looks fairly competent with Henig in at QB. He went down in the first game of the year against USC, think he's been back for their last 3 offensive outbursts now against Georgia, Kentucky, and Alabama.

Pittsburgh and Virginia making me look like an idiot, while Miss State and Maryland make me look smart.

Rough weekend on the emotions, but a decent Saturday.
9-7 with a Sunday game left, and while I missed the Kentucky/Georgia OVER, it was the right side. Each team threw an INT at the 1.

I know it's a bit early but what do you all think of these games below? I've been playing a parlay card here at work - betting on 5 teams 10 bucks and if I hit all 5 I get $500. Or I can bet on 10 teams for 10 and get $1,000. I've went 4-1 the past 3 weeks, always coming up a bit short. The past two Saturday's Wake Forest has cost me to lose - I refuse to bet on them anymore lol.

Anyway, here's the games I've got decent feelings about so far, in order of my confidence:

1. Marshall +7 at East Carolina - I like the Pirates to cover

2. Vandy +2.5 at Kentucky - I have to take KY here, right? I mean they beat UGA and are sniffing of a bowl game and need a home win over Vandy.

3. Boise State -13 at San Jose State - I think Boise needs to win big and SJ State isn't a dominant team.

4. Michigan -19.5 at Indiana - I like Indiana at home. I've nailed my Michigan pick the past 3 weeks.

5. Temple +34.5 at Penn State - I am not thinking PSU can cover that big of a spread but Temple does stink.

Other games I've got on the radar that I'm trying to figure out maybe replacing one of the games above are:

Cincinnati +18 at West Va - Cinci isn't horrible and they played Louisville real close. I want to think Cinci is a good pick here.

Nebraska -1 at Texas A&M - A&M is at home but they have that choke tendancy and Nebraska is pretty stout - I think I like Nebraska here...

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.....just looking to see what others think about this week's games.

Looking at it early some of the games I like would be:

Baylor +16 @ Okla. St.
Navy -13 @ East. Mich.
Colorado St. @ Utah -13
Houston -5 @ SMU
Tennessee +5.5 @ Arkansas

Really really like Boise State. You don't HAVE to play Kentucky, because Vandy also beat UGA.

Marshall is getting a lot better the last few weeks, but not sure HOW much better. ECU is probably one of the best 4 teams in CUSA.

I'm still early in my process this week (2 days behind) so I don't want to mislead you quite yet. :)

Also, stop parlaying.

Stop parlaying? I don't throw much into it - I figure it's worth $10 to possibly get a $500 return. I don't play on many of the gambling sites, yet. When you are as poor as Joe's turkey it's hard to part with much money lol. I do this mainly for fun at work but I'd sure like to hit that $500 parlay before the year is over - Christmas is coming up! lol

Also, could someone point me to some good websites where you all research the teams? All I do is go by all I watch/hear all week and then go to ESPN and look at the scores they've had for the year and see if they are riding on a high or a low. I'm sure there's detailed sites out there that would help more than just looking at ESPN like I do right now.

For now I've revised my 5 parlay picks - I have until Friday to change my mind. My new top 5 is as follows:

1. Boise State -13 at SJ State
2. Houston -5 at SMU
3. Marshall +7 at ECU
4. Cincinnati +18 at West Va.
5. Minnesota -1.5 at Michigan State

Still have some others on my radar though but for this minute that's the one's I like.

Well covers.com is a good site and I love the Phil Steele magazine, I write in it and keep all my notes there it's pretty cool.

Baylor +16 @ Okla. St.
Navy -13 @ East. Mich.
Colorado St. @ Utah -13
Houston -5 @ SMU
Tennessee +5.5 @ Arkansas
If you like UT at +5', you should love the value you're getting on the Vols at +190 on the money line.

Worst start for my week yet this season. 0-4 with missing Louisville, Iowa under, Georgia Tech, and Illinois.

Let's hope we turn this around and go .500.

Well on my parlay 9 I just got screwed royally by a late meaningless TD by Colorado State in the closing seconds. I had already won 5 of the 9 and that would have been 6. My other 3 were Maryland, whose ahead right now, Alabama +17 and Oklahoma at -10 later. Dang dang dang - good shot at 1K down the drain.

Wow, I just found out I won my parlay 5. I had bet on Boise State to cover the 14 and I was dejected last night to find out they didn't. Well, my bookie accidently marked the wrong team and marked SJS in that game so I get a call that I actually won. Crazy.

I opened an account on Bowmans about a month ago and have went from a $20 start to up to $110 yesterday. I'm riding a $50 bet on New Orleans to win straight up at Pittsburgh today and if they come through that's worth another $100.
