Duke Crews and Ramar Smith Dismissed

sure...send it to every high major and mid major college coach in the nation. I'll be impressed if you can get them to pay you for your opinion......

mm
I would be altogether depressed if that ever became remotely close to my method of employment. I really can't imagine anything more depressing as my life's calling.

Similarly, impressing you isn't particularly high on my list of things to do either. That would be because you scout HS basketball players for a living and I think that funny and pathetic. Moreover, you're a glory hound about it, which makes it look even worse.

and God forbid the druggies get the boot.

If you condone it, then live with the consequences.

am i naive enough to think it does not happen....of course not...but given the amount of chances he was given,.........well......ramar got what he deserved
druggies should get the boot to the extent that they cannot reform or conform, but saying things like good riddance is just weak.

The 5 player class of 2006 is beginning to look like a series of Survivor.

Johnson, Smith and Crews are all gone...only Tabb and Chism remain. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that Weezy and Josh can keep their heads on straight.

Those 2 seem like great kids.

BPV who does MM scout for?

FV
did you not read it? every mid major and high major outfit in the universe. They're all paying him for his "analysis." None of them form their own opinions about it. They just ask mm.

I suppose a few actually show up themselves and form their opinions and likely use mm to let them know if someone is worth seeing. Mm views himself as some glorified scout it appears and coaches are using him as some sort of directory service.

Well think of all the great advice he can give CBP to better help UT cut down the nets.:whistling:

Ramar was EXTREMELY overrated by almost everyone on this board......I will not miss him....especially when he was clearly a rule breaker......Duke had problems and I will miss him for what he did bring to the team with the issues he had...Ramar had no excuxe......I am not saying Duke is without fault...but.....

wish we had more guys like Lofton....characterwise atleast

I disagree with that statement. A lot of people said that he's a terrible PG but has unlimited potential. So i don't see where he's overrated.

either way, thinly veiled joy over his dismissal is just annoying. Just root for someone else.

Right now on the team we have Wayne Chism, Tyler Smith, JP Prince, Scotty Hopson, Tatum, Tabb, Williams, Woolridge, West and Jurick.

I'm assuming something toward this

PG - West/Prince
SG - Hopson/TATUM
SF - Tyler/Prince/Woolridge
PF - Chism
PF - Williams/Jurick

I can see JP Playing 6th Man again and playing either PG or SF.

Woolridge and Jurick also will probably get playing time in PF/SF Jurick is around 7'0, Wooldridge around 6'8. Daniel West is going to be a star you can bank on it.

Thats why there are rules you break them your gone. I don't feel sorry for people that can't go to class or stay off drugs. I don't like the idea of our players getting in trouble but it gives me an example to tell my son you break the rules you are going to suffer the consiquences no matter how good of a player you are.

Tabb will play a lot next year

Considering that Chism and Williams have a propensity to get themselves into foul trouble, Jurick, Wooldridge, and Tyler are probably going to have to contribute in the frontcourt.

I can see more of Woolridge and Jurick playing 4/5 then Tyler, I like Tyler at the 3 spot. Then again we haven't seen Woolridge play out of High-School yet and he might be better suited for the 3.

you laughed at something in the midst of telling me that you've watched a single HS basketball player, one from CA no less, 30 times. Holy schnike am I impressed. I suspect there are other derelicts who could say similar things and impress me similarly. Congrats.

UT, given the latest happenings, will put him in the frontcourt and ask him to do the things necessary to play there. He won't see any playing time for a while otherwise. He and his father can debate about it forever, but it won't change that he is a limited shooter and can't outplay our other wing options.

I watch almost every top 150 kid in the nation 10-40 times. Not sure if you recall, but that's my job.

The fact that Renaldo played for Belmont Shore who happened to win the Vegas Summer Championship and played with Brandon Jennings, Leonard Washington, DeMar DeRozan, Jeff Withey and a few other elite ballers. In addition, I did color commentary for the video broadcast of the Reebok tournament.....

So yeah, I saw the kid a couple of times.

Oh, and he is not a "limited shooter".....stick to trying to bait UK fans....leave the scouting to the pros.

haha...I think it's funny when people on message boards are talking about basketball day after day....and then try to act like they would never want to have the insight and access that comes from working with the college coaches they sit around and try to figure out.

Yeah, I'm sure you would hate being able to pick up the phone and find out anything you wanted to know....haha.....sure ya would.

So, out of curiosity, what do you do for a living? It's got to be major exciting....haha

pro....that's funny as hell. and congrats on more 'intimate' knowledge of a hs basketball player. That's impressive.

Oh, and I don't think he's a shooter.

bmfpv

yeah. pro. One who gets paid for it.

And sorry, but Woolridge is a good shooter for a guy his size. In fact, my biggest knock on him is his tendency to shoot the 3 ball TOO much.

I'd rather see him at the 4....its' where he could do some damage cause he can't guard an SEC 3. I'm just saying it's not going to be easy to get him to get low and bang....

Thanks for the congrats!

are you just trying to make yourself feel better about your gig? I don't care to have insider info. It matters absolutely zero to me. If I wanted it, I'd pay for it, but I don't want it, so I don't pay for it. Basketball junkies probably care, but that is a very small crowd.

I would never pick up the phone to find out anything about a basketball player, ever, for any reason.

What I do has no business in the debate, because I'm not pimping it to validate anything I'm saying.

As you might expect, I'm going to say that your PG spot is really really weak.

JP Prince is not a PG.....not a good option at all.

West will be a decent PG, but not as a freshman. And he's a "get up and down" type PG, not someone to run half court sets....which was sometimes a struggle for UT last year....I wouldn't expect it to be much better if you are relying on a freshman....

I hope you guys land Bobby Maze. he's the answer to your problems. He would be better even than Ramar next year.
