I know your extension comment was in jest, but I think he’s done ok this season. This roster is short on talent and short on depth and they’ve won 23 games while learning a new (or new-ish) system with some transfers also playing key roles. Gotta see how he recruits and then melds those guys to his style.

A casual viewers opinion that no one asked for - I wonder how much all the theatrics played in this loss? The Duke players seemed like they were forcing it under the pressure of getting Coach K his last win. UNC seemed perfectly comfortable to play spoiler, zero pressure on them

I’m sure the pressure was absolutely ridiculous no matter how much he tried to down play it. Add all the former players, alumni, etc in attendance and it’s no surprise they played tight.

Solid win for the heels but it’s nothing to write home about for Davis.

I didn’t really care who won either way, but I felt some sympathy for the Duke players. At the end of the day, they’re college kids and you’re dumping the weight of Coach K’s last game, and like you said, all the players, alumni, faculty, celebrities, etc etc on their shoulders. Felt like if they treated this game like any other, Duke probably pulls out the win, but you know what they say about ifs, ands, and buts….

I think it had an impact to a degree. At the same time, Carolina played very good basketball in the second half.I think they turned it over once. You give a team like that confidence and then it’s a snowball effect. It ended up being that way. Duke once again lost to a team at home that they shouldn’t have.

I get all the marketing of the little cult of personality they have there with K, but I was honestly shocked he was wearing that shirt. Let everyone else wear it, but he should have worn a coat and tie like he usually does. It just seemed amazingly pretentious.

Wow. A lot of anger in your own post. I say this as a UNC fan: the amount of BS that has gone on at both ends of 15/501 over the years would probably curl all of our toes. Dont pretend K hasn’t been in the middle of it on Dooks end.

Pretty sure Coach K’s white pullover had the Duke Brotherhood crest on it, not the K like current players, former players and staff were wearing.
