I knew he was gone, but I guess I just assumed he graduated or something. I don’t think I had any knowledge of him transferring. Especially to Creighton. Then I saw him Thursday night and was like whoa

I think there were a couple bad no-calls against Duke. That’s ultimately not why they won today. These guys thinking there is some grand conspiracy to advance Duke through the tournament are ridiculous (and this is coming from a Carolina fan). So many people have such a monumental struggle separating their desired outcome from their ability to watch a game objectively.

I don’t know if you’re still local or not, but if there’s some conspiracy by the national media or cbs to keep Duke going you would never guess it around here. The local media has been salivating since the Carolina game at the idea of Duke going out early . Everyone locally had today circled as K’s last game. To me it wasn’t just opinions, it was unnecessary shots by a guy at the N&O or guys who I used to work with in the radio business. They couldn’t help themselves I guess . The thing that gets me is that Tennessee has no rivalry at all w/ Duke or K. I get why people like yourself or other regular participants in this thread hate Duke, but for the most part you have good reason, I get it . I can’t stand when people just don’t like someone or something because they’re successful. It’s not a good look. I don’t ever talk smack about Saban. I respect the hell out of him for what he’s done over decades now . But at the same time there’s no one I want to beat more than Nick Saban.

No. I’m in Phoenix, AZ now. I obviously always want Carolina to beat Duke, but anybody that is objective knows that Duke, with Coach K, has been a great program over the years. If I didn’t respect Duke’s basketball program, beating them wouldn’t be as satisfying. I have friends that are Duke fans. My brother always pulls for Duke against Carolina just to piss me off. Nevertheless, I can watch the games objectively and recognize when good and bad foul calls are made against both teams.

One thing that many people don’t seem to understand is that there is a built in advantage to playing aggressively and forcing the refs to call fouls on you (both on offense and defense).

I hope Thursday night some of our Volnation posters will have their devices fully powered up. It’s gonna be a physical, tough game and I think how it’s officiated will have an impact on the game. I would hate for them to run out of juice and not be able to celebrate or bitch about the outcome.

Don't worry, my misguided friend, I'm sure the next few days will pay proper adoration and homage to Coach K's ego. If Dook makes the FF, I suspect ESPN will begin to sacrifice small animals to his image.

I just saw on ESPN.com that Texas Tech is currently favored by 1 point over Duke. UCLA is favored by 2 points over Carolina.

All joking aside, TT beat UT up pretty well in the paint. IIRC, it was a very brutal game, and our bigs were not yet up to that task. I agree it will be a very physical game.

I'd say "good luck", but....you know......

Here’s something to ponder: we’re one solid weekend for both teams away from getting to see Carolina add beating Coach K in his last Final 4 to their list of bragging rights that already include beating Coach K in his final game in Cameron Indoor.

Funny you mentioned that. I was actually talking about it with someone today. I really can’t imagine the drunk fest on Main St or Franklin, let alone Bourbon.

We should make sure that ESPN and the NCAA are fully aware of this potential Final Four matchup since apparently it’s so easy for them to arrange their desired outcome.

If I were a UNC fan I wouldn’t want that game. You guys already have a huge chip to holdover Duke fans forever . If Duke plays UNC in the final 4 and Duke wins, that win in Durham will mean quite a bit less.

Look, it probably won’t happen. While this year’s UNC team clearly isn’t a great team, I don’t fear a matchup against Duke. Also, UNC is playing with house money now because we were supposed to already be eliminated. We beat a #1 seed. Coach K losing his final home game ever to Carolina will always be sweet. Nothing can diminish it.

I get it. I think from a Duke fan’s perspective beating UNC in the Final Four would be monumental and redeem what happened in Durham. I think once you get to the Final 4 all of the underdog stuff goes out the window. If anything, this NCAA has shown that the ACC wasn’t quite as bad as many thought it was.

As you said, it probably won’t happen. TBH I don’t know if I could handle it. It might Indiana State vs Michigan State a run for its money ratings wise. Although I don’t think anyone is going to touch that #.
