Duke/UNC Official Thread 2021/2022 (K’s Last Hurrah Edition)

I completely agree, but I’d take that 3 over Duke’s 2 any day.

Can you explain why?

second round game Tennessee could face the 24th ranked team……while Duke will face Mich ST who is 36th in the net and lost 8 of their past 13 or Davidson who is 41 in the NET

Then in the sweet 16 Duke will face the 12th ranked team losers of 3 of their last 5

While Tennessee would face the 6th ranked team……winners of 10 of their last 11.

This really isn’t even close, to me.

Just thought I'd drop this in here. 2021-2022 - Season of the Rat.

Has anyone asked K if he is upset he didn't get the overall #1 seed??

And yes, I fully acknowledge that RDU is being sportsmanlike and gracious about this, so this is in no way directed at that rare example of a likable Dook fan!

My rationale is that I’ve seen Tom Izzo have mediocre teams going into the tournament before and he always seems to get his guys ready for the Tournament. Bob McKillop is a veteran coach who has faced Duke multiple times during the regular season, so there is familiarity, just as there is w/ Michigan State who it seems like Duke has played as much any OOC opponent the past 15 years. You’re probably correct about Villanova, but I think Texas Tech is a tough out. They’re older and they play physical. I don’t always buy into the metrics .

No doubt on TT I wouldn’t have Duke getting past that game myself.

If the Duke team that showed up in November comes to the tournament I would expect Duke to win. If Duke of the last 5 games shows up they’ll be out Sunday.

They’ll probably play better than maybe the past few weeks; however I highly doubt we see “any” November teams now.

I agree, but some teams have progressed, while others have regressed. The Vols have gotten better and better. Virginia Tech was 2-7 in the ACC and have won 13 of 15. Duke has lost 2 of 4 and looked bad doing it. Duke was top 20 in defensive efficiency prior to the last 5 games. They now rank above 200 or something crazy. If Duke is going to make a run they need to make a re-commitment to defense and stop wasting possessions.

UNC advances convincingly. Let's see if Duke can match.
Hopefully. I just want to see Duke play good defense and get out in transition. Keels also needs to get his stuff together too. I have it on pretty good authority that since he got hurt against FSU, he’s been a little less committed to playing his hardest than he was prior to. He and Roach have to play well.

Didn’t realize that Kansas was playing FTW too. Will Huckleberry be wearing a sticker today?

F Carolina and F Kentucky, and especially F UCONN, but the Corona commercial is hilarious
