The home gothic/brotherhood Duke unis are way better than the navy ones from last year.

That said, I wish they’d stick with Royal blue and occasional black unis.

You guys hate Carolina but it seems like the NCST fans that actually claim St are always crying about something. Duke/Carolina cheat, it’s the refs, we always get “home cooking” etc

RDU lives right there, but in my travels around the state, State, Appy St, and ECU are the bigger fan bases. Obviously Duke and UNC are vastly larger national brands so on a grand scale they have bigger fan bases, but within the state, NC St is by far the biggest state school. And yea, their fans really seem to think they’re way better than advertised.

(And yea, here in the WS area I see a good amount of Wake fans, but still not that many)

In a lot of cases NC State fans hate UNC more than they like their own team.

In my experience I’d say that UNC has the most fans. There are lots of ECU fans once you get East of 95. I think Duke’s fan base has grown over the years, but still can’t touch UNC or State’s . If State ever gets good again they’re going to be really obnoxious.

No question UNC/Duke have the most wagon riding fans though

Oddly, I found that to be the case as well.

My time as a grad student at UNC and my interaction with Dook students led to my loathing of the University of New Jersey at Durham. And Dookies loathe UNC.

But the NCST fans’ hatred of UNC is next level.

When I was at UNC in grad school, there was a guy in my class who went to NC State for undergrad. He constantly talked about how much he hated UNC ... even though he was going there. It was weird.

It always seemed like a one-way street, though. NC State people hated UNC, but at UNC, Duke is the rival, not NC State. People just didn't seem to care that much about NC State one way or another.

I didn’t see it, but I’ve never had some of my friends that are UNC fans talking about how bad the officials were in favor of them. I saw some of the replays this morning . I saw Grayson Bacot tripped a guy. 😀

BTW, Bacot and John are definitely gonna fight Saturday night . Go ahead put a couple of off setting techs in the books.

If they called the foul when Bacot got fouled earlier in that sequence, then the trip never happens anyway, but two wrongs doesn’t make a right. He definitely fouled the guy with the clothesline, but it went on the other poor fella, and it certainly looked like a flop on the “push” or a combo flop/tripped over the other guy’s leg.

I think Carolina will play well and play hard. I’m expecting Duke to come out and play hard after last years effort in Chapel Hill. I’ve never been more disappointed in a Duke teams effort versus UNC as I was last season in Chapel Hill. It was insulting to the rivalry .

When I was at State during the David Thompson era, C'lina was #1 on my hate list. Having said that, however, I found myself hitch-hiking to Chapel Hill several times a week to party with the Sigma Nu's. There were several friends there from my hometown, so we gave each other a break (the Southern Comfort helped) :)
