The only two teams that are comparable are the 84 UNC team and the Duke 99 team. No excuse for those teams not to win the title.
I still say if K bothered to recruit a legitimate but he could have stacked titles.
Just my opinion obviously and in no way do I know basketball.
And if Roy had consistency on the defensive end rather than those brain farts.
Sad really.
Dean, K and Roy should all have more titles. 86, 89, 99, 04, 19 all stand out to me for K. Dean probably had quite a few before I was born, but 84 was a great team. Some of those mid 90’s team were very good too. Roy really struggled winning the big one at Kansas and probably could’ve won 1 or 2 more at UNC.
I think UNC had a great chance in 2011 or 2012, whichever year it was that Kendall Marshall got hurt and we had to roll with Stillman White against Kansas. The 1994 Heels should have rolled also. Returned the majority of the championship team, plus Stackhouse, Wallace, and McInnis. Never found the right chemistry.Dean, K and Roy should all have more titles. 86, 89, 99, 04, 19 all stand out to me for K. Dean probably had quite a few before I was born, but 84 was a great team. I think it’s more of a discussion of the great teams each coach had. When I’m discussing this I’m not looking at K and being critical of him. Duke it won in ‘91 and they weren’t the best team, it’s debatable about 2010 and 15. I still think Duke was the best team in 99, 04 and 19, but it just didn’t work out.The should’ve won more rings argument only gets dumber with each year y’all bring it up. Any coach with multiple titles exceeded any expectations. It’s not even fair to criticize Cal for only winning one. Only fifteen coaches can even claim multiple titles. 7 of those were before 1975.

Huge game in Charlottesville for Duke tonight. Need this W.
Also, it just recently came to my attention that the East Regionals are in Philadelphia this year. If there is any possible way that the committee puts Duke as a 1 seed or UK 2, or Vice versa they have to do that right? K’s last season, 30 year anniversary of Laettner’s shot in Philly, they have to place them there for that potential matchup.
Agreed. And kind of my point. It’s incredibly hard to win the ncaa tournament. The number of years that the seemingly best team throughout the season wins it all is incredibly small. You could perhaps argue that Jay Wright has won the right percentage of titles, but I’m sure some Nova fans feel like he should’ve won more. Self, Cal, K, Smith, Roy, Izzo, Boeheim, Calhoun, etc all should have more based on seasons, Recruiting, and such. Few, Barnes, Huggins, Chaney, Majerus, Stevens, and whomever else I’m likely skipping all have arguments against them for never being able to win one. But it’s just hard. 64 teams enter, one team wins. Or however many it is nowadays with those weird play in games.Isn’t really a defense it’s more of reality. People jump off the cliff so easy these days.

It’s natural to eat at the coaches themselves for not winning it during X season, but I can’t find any valid reason for fans to push against the likes of Roy, Izzy, K, Dean, Cal, etc based on their success.68 in total I believe
I see what your saying but it’s so hard for me to grasp why those guys didn’t get more. I guess there’s still some competitor in me somewhere. I’m happy for Roy and K but I’ll be the first to say it probably eats at them because X year didn’t pan out.

Can you imagine how Tennessee fans would lose their mind with Tony Bennett style play and roller coaster ncaa tourney rides?
