EA College Football, 2024 (PS5/XSX)

Figure this might be of interest. As of May 8th we had 15 players from the spring roster not opted in. They may have opted in since or may still opt in currently, but these missed the deadline to guarantee they are in the game at launch.

  • OL Lance Heard
  • TE Miles Kitselman
  • DL Omarr-Norman Lott
  • DB Jermod McCoy
  • DB Cristian Conyer (Transferred to Coastal Carolina)
  • DB Kaleb Beasley
  • DB Christian Charles
  • DL Tyree Weathersby
  • DL Tyre West
  • DL Jayson Jenkins
  • Walk-on WR Jackson Locke
  • Walk-on TE Titus Rohrer
  • Walk-on TE Luke Shouse
  • Walk-on DB Montrell Bandy
  • Walk-on DB Malik Ganaway

Heard needs to opt in for me to be all that I can be in this game

Now they have my interest. Base align changed to coverage shells and a new switch stick. Can we play defense again without abilities?

How much y'all wanna bet they still can't fix man coverage assignments when flipping plays? It's been broke for 10 years lol

Has EA explained exactly how opt-outs will work? Are they just... holes in the roster? Will there be comparably-rated "random" players filling in those spots, or would even randomizing race/hometown/class with gauged stats be too close to what got the series canned in the first place?

They have said that if a player opts out they will be placed by a totally generic player at that position created by EA. Assuming that is to avoid any chance of a random generated player being similar to the actual players. The generic players skill level will be determined by an average rating of recruits at that position for the school. I haven’t seen any indication on exactly how they plan to calculate that. They also said there will be block in place to stop people from creating players who have opted out.

Kind of sucks that players won’t be able to create athletes who opted out. I would have figured as long as that particular created athlete wasn’t shared online with other players that it would have been acceptable.

I’m trying to figure out how they are going to keep people from creating March Anning . Make him a different # and race? I’m sure someone will come up w/ some way around this.

$150 gets you an EA football, jersey, and mini locker. Not a terrible deal but kinda lame items.

I’d rather just get the game and Madden for the same price . I’m in my 40s. I don’t need to advertise w/ a EA sports jersey and locker that I’m playing video games.

not gonna lie gonna be tempted to change all the conferences back to regional base in my first dynasty lol

Also speaking of Dynasty, who do yall think I should roll with? I play dynasty coach based, I start off at a small school and work my way up to the Vols until I win back to back natties then I basically start a new dynasty and repeat the process.

I’m thinking one of these since they’re new to the game

Kennesaw State
Sam Houston State
Charlotte
Georgia Southern
Jacksonville State

I know there’s other new additions but they’ve actually been pretty good programs lately so I’m out on App State, Coastal Carolina, Liberty and James Madison.

But it doesn’t have to be a new team, if y’all know a group of 5 team that’s just been terrible lately, I’m down for them as well. Maybe expect MAC schools, don’t really dig the MAC too much lol

FIU hasn’t had a winning season since like 2017 maybe and their logo is cool.

Arkansas State endured years of Butch Jones, could save that fan base from their misery.

Could use Georgia State, maybe the sign in their stadium from where they beat us will be in the game lol

Working at GA State, I HATE seeing that when I'm out by the stadium. They also have a large pic at the old outside bar too (that I might acquire lol)

I think KSU would be fun (I've thought about using them).

GS has made back-to-back bowls, and 5 in the last 8 years. GSU* has made 4 in the last 8. I'd say they are about equal program wise.

James Madison has only been FBS for 2 years.

Southern Miss has been bad for a few years now.

The REAL GSU, Georgia State

what system should I get? I’m old and haven’t done much gaming for the last decade, other than Madden on my PC
