YawnI don’t like the rankings either but no doubt there is a reason Oregon is the number 1 seed in the playoff right now … it’s the high level recruits they are getting at the skill positions is straight up sick… stars are accurate when they are the top of the top 9/10 times… If we dream of actually winning a championship we have to get into the top 5 on a regular basis in recruiting … the staff still has a lot of room to grow in recruiting .. especially the offensive staff and the corner recruiters
No people underestimate it, I think people don't get the scale of things. There is a reason that most years Florida has 3-4 teams in the top 25. Its not just the level of talent its the sheer amount. There are very few states where a school can say forget other states we can recruit just in our own state and still put together a good team and still have enough talent left over to fill rosters across the nation.Y'all really overrate instate talent. Kids cross state lines to go to school.
Put gloves on backwardsMy man messed up his VOL sign lol. He will have 3 or 4 years to practice and get it down. This guy is a HUGE get. Gonna be like Omar Norman Lott at Dtackle...too quick for centers and guards playing at ~300lbs. ONL had 2 sacks vs Bama and changed the game. Difference maker IMO.
I think Perlotte signedSo the committed players we're waiting on to sign:
David Sanders, Jr.
Nic Moore
And two committed players who won't sign with Tennessee today (Darrion Smith signing with Auburn and Onis Konanbanny not signing today).
And the uncommitted players we're waiting on to sign:
Isaiah Campbell
Tim Merritt
Jadon Perlotte
And of course, whatever small amount of hope we may hold out for Shady Hayward.
Do I have all that right?

Texas, Florida, California and Georgia. You would be hard pressed to find a single team in the top 25 without multiple players from those states. There are some other 2nd tier states. NC, SC, LA, MS, OH and AL. The dropoff after those is drastic. If UT got the best 25 players in Tennessee every year and built its entire team out of TN players our team would SUCK. because the amount of talent is limited. not just the quality the sheer amount of D1 players he state produces.
Taking it to another level if you look at the top 10 D1 players by state and the top 10 NFL players by state. currently and historically. The lists are almost the same except for 2 states PA and IL take the places of SC and MS. It's not just numbers its the level of talent. Alabama has no business in the top 10 of those lists but they are 9th in in college players and tied for 8th in NFL players 24th in population. I the US once you're out of the top 10 in population it drops a lot. Atlanta metro area would be 18th in state population. They have a bigger pop than every SEC state except for FL and TX. Some states overproduce others underproduce. TN slightly underproduces for its size State like MS, NC and SC overproduce for their populations.
