I’m not seeing anything outrageous on the typical forecast apps just yet. Just how cold would we be talking if that model was correct?

This is from the European model. This would be Friday, Jan. 10 at 12:00pm showing temps around -4 to -10. Could only imagine wind chill.

Probably need to start preparing for several days of not getting above freezing. Wouldn't be surprised to see these go even lower the closer we get

I was a senior at UT living in Clement. I remember the university told us to stay inside. So, of course, we headed down to the Last Lap for a few pops in the late afternoon. I recall seeing the temperature on the bank building downtown showing -18 some time that particular night.

That's crazy. The one I saw from GFS a few minutes ago wasn't showing that much but it was showing 4+ inches for the Knoxville area with some surrounding areas getting 8+.

Looks like all the models are now showing this storm staying North of us on the 6th. There’s still time for that to change but the GFS looks like it moved in line with the other models. Is that what you all are seeing as well?

Oh, well. It was looking promising for a while. A tale as old as time. It will, however, get bone chilling cold.

Canadian is wanting to push the storm a little south.

European model is also pulling the storm south. This will need to be monitored for us in East TN. Could have a messy situation on Sunday.
